A Question From A Friend..

Today one of my friends today emailed me and was like i am nine days late, how did you know you were pregnant? I told her that i was really grumpy and i wanted to sleep a lot. So i bought a test even before i was late. The first day i was late i took a test and it was a plus sign but not a clear plus, the second day it was a plus again but not clear so finally by the third day i was late i was like get a pregnancy test that says pregnant or not pregnant. She said that she has had some spotting but were it concerned me that she told me that she had a heavy period that was normal last month but a week after she had another. But she has been spotting may be a tea spoon a day for the last three. She said she was on birth control but stopped three months ago. I told her that to take a test if your not pregnant i would go to the doctor may be see why it's happening.. What do you guys think? Pregnant? Not Pregnant? Irritated Cervix? Miscarriage?

wow that sounds like my story. heavy period then a week later another one and then nothing for almost 5 weeks and BAM!! Pregnant! I had also stopped BC a little while before so I would say pregnancy is possible but it's really hard to say for sure.

Did she take a pregnancy test?

No one here will have an answer for your friend. She should take a test. If she's concerned about the bleeding (which I am confused about based on your post), she should call her doctor.

It means that no one here can tell you whether or not your friend is pregnant.  She should take a pregnancy test.

Well obviously the best  and smartest thing to do when one thinks they are pregnant is to just wait it out another month and see if they get their period again. Pregnancy tests are a waste of time and money. Better spent on a nice bottle of wine.

The only way she's going to know is by taking a test. Sometimes changing or coming off of BC can change the heaviness and duration of your menstruation for months, so that's not really a factor in this situation. 

Nobody can really help ya out. Tell your friend GL lol

They sell pregnancy tests at the dollar store, so there is really no excuse to not take a test. (although she might have to wait a little longer for the cheap tests to actually pick something up). But better safe than sorry. I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks, and found out at an unrelated doctor's appointment (and felt like a total idiot for not realizing). I spotted right when I would normally have gotten my period up til month 3.
