fertility blend/vitex

Has anyone tried Fertilityblend which has vitex? Or taking vitex? I have a short O to period, spotting starting at dp9 or dp10. I read a lot about it tried fertilityblend last cycle. It extended my cycle from my normal 24/25 days to 28 days. My O to period was 15 days, but i did have some brown spotting starting dp12. I was just curious to see if anyone had tried fertilityblend or vitex.

I have not tried either of these products. Have you talked to your doctor about them? It makes me nervous to take anything that I haven't cleared with my doctor first.

You should never touch Vitex without consulting a physician. It will only help certain issues, and if you don't have one of them, you can end up causing problemts when you don't have one.

Spotting does not start a new cycle, nor is it cause for concern. Unless your full on period consistently starts prior to 10 dpo, you do not have an issue. Quit being impatient.

Agree with GM, you should not be self diagnosing or taking anything like that without checking with your doc/midwife.

Also, your "O to period" is called your leuteal phase (LP). The fact that you don't know this, yet you already diagnosed yourself as having a short one, is concerning.

Having brown spotting 12 DPO (I'm guessing you don't actually know when you O, so I use those numbers loosely) is normal.

What about someone who has been "bleeding" (Using the term loosely) an entire month? I've been spotting/bleeding brown/black/red since my period ended. Now i wouldn't suggest taking natural supplements without consulting your doctor.

Vitex is supposedly used to regulate your period, creating a normal 28-30 day cycle. It supposedly helps you to ovulate when you are supposed to as well. It reduces premenstral symptoms. I've read into Vitex. Any kind of natural or chemical supplement can cause side effects. Your doctor should know whats best for you. Not any of us really.

Thank you for the advice. I started cd1 today was debating whether to take the fertility blend this cycle. I have decided not to take them. I appreciate the help on this board wish i had asked before trying fertilityblend. Honestly i feel a little stupid for trying them.
This past month has been tough, i thought i would be pregnant by the holidays when we started trying last summer. Also two good friends just announced they are pregnant.

Don't. They do a fantastic job of making them sound like magic pills, but just like everything else- if it was that easy, wouldn't everyone be taking them and doctors would be suggesting them right off the bat? There are some women that do seem to have success with things like Vitex, but it's not a good choice for every woman. OTC doesn't mean perfect for everyone. That and herbs are not at all regulated and they can make any claims they want with zero research to back them.

If you go back and look at the reviews, a large number of them claim it helped within the first couple months. Those are nothing but a coincidence. It takes at least 3 months before you would see any improvement from Vitex.

It is frustrating, but since this summer is not all that long (though it may seem otherwise). Your time could be right around the corner. And remember- you may not know what your friends had to go through to get pregnant. Many couples do not share their struggles with fertility even with their closest friends.
