Which due date would you choose?

My MIL is an OB/.GYN nurse at a hospital. I had my very first u/s with her at 9 weeks and she gave me a EDD of March 15th. To my understanding, that would be the most accurate EDD, however, at my 20 a/s they told me March 11th and at my level II u/s they also gave me a March 11th EDD.

Probably stupid because I know baby rarely arrives on those dates, but which would you go with?

My OB always goes by the early date. It is most accurate. Babies start measuring differently the later in pregnancy.

11th. My due date went from 3-21 to 3-17 because of sizes.

I always go with the date given at the earliest point in pregnancy (most accurate scientifically). Mentally, I let myself believe it's the latest date given as well, so I'm not expecting things to happen sooner and so nobody tries to induce too early, etc.

Based on my lmp, my EDD is March 12th, and the first u/s gave me a date of March 17th.  Because the dates are within 5 days, my dr said they go with the lmp.

I would go with the first date you got. They're so close that it hardly matters, but I would go with the one slightly further out so baby has more of a chance to come out on their own before they try to induce you for being overdue.

Early date.  At our 10 week us we were given an EDD of December 29th, at our 20 week us we were given an EDD of November 29th.  Our LO has consistantly measured 4 weeks ahead ever since, and we began "post-term" monitoring at week 36 due to LGA (he already measured over 8 lbs).  However, it's December 30th and he's still baking away.  Like PP said, be prepared for the early date, but mentally focus on the later.

I would go with the first date you got.  That way people won't be bugging you and asking if you've had the baby yet if you are late!

Do you know when you ovulated? That is the date I would use though I know you didn't list it as an option.

Honestly its only 4 days. I wouldn't be too concerned over it. I'd use the first when people ask when you're due.

Early ultrasound dating is the most accurate over all other dating methods so I would use that.

This was the case for me too. My EDD by LMP was 12/26; by dating u/s it was 1/1. Since I'm currently pregnant on the 30th, it probably would have been good for my mental health to think of it as the dating ultrasound day!

I would go with the first date of March 15....but that is also because I do not want to be induced and if you go with March 11, by March 15 you are now going to be 40 weeks and 4 days and many docs start talking induction the further past EDD  you go.

Plus I have heard here that earliest u/s datings are the most accurate, but I don't know that to be true.

Expecting our second baby on February 7, 2013. Trusting Him whatever comes our way.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011 at 20 weeks. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.

I'll be the odd ball out and say the later date. I went to 42 weeks with my daughter and she was born a healthy 8lbs 8oz. I would choose the later one so that I could have a little more flexibility at the end before an induction was pushed.

If you know when your LMP was or better if you know when you ovulated, that is the date to go with, regardless of baby size. If you're going past your EDD though and don't want to be induced unless absolutely necessary, you'd want to go with the later date. If you're a FTM and running average for spontanious labor you'd be around 41w 1d. Some hospitals give you only until 41 weeks, some give until 42. The 3/15 date gives you 4 more days. Another perk is you would have 4 less days of people calling and bothering you saying, "Is it here yet?"
