just lurking but my DD was on both. She had severe reflux so I gave zantac in the morning, 4 hours later prevacid, and at night zantac again.
She also was instructed by her specialist to sleep on her tummy because she couldn't lay flat at all and choked on her spit up (turning blue not breathing) once when we had her on her back at an incline in the crib. We got the angelcare after that! DD had severe reflux and colic it was a really rough 4 months and then it was much better!
She went on reflux meds at almost 1 month old, just zantac, and then at her almost 3 month appointment we found blood in her stool and she had multiple ulcers and damage to the esophagus so the specalist started her on Prevacid too. She cried alllllll day long and only slept upright on my chest (I had to be standing completely upright or I slept upright up against the wall with her in the moby!) I was in that doctors office demanding something else was wrong every few days and kept getting pushed aside as "just colic" and "give mylicon" until I finally went to children's hospital on my own.
I had to be on a strict diet (ebfing) which helped the reflux a lot. No milk products of any kind, no chocolate, no soy, no gassy veg, no spicy/garlic. It was rough and I ate very plain food until she was 6 moths old then I slowly added stuff back in and started her on solid foods.
Now she is a happy, healthy toddler and outgrew it around 11 months old!
