What time should I trigger?

Hi all : had my monitoring appointment this am and the good news is that I'm ready to trigger : I have 2 follicles 21mm and 17mm. My iui is set for 10:45am on Wednesday. Given that appointment time, what time tonight should I trigger? My information. Just says after 6pm.

My RE gives EXACT times...last time for us it was at 9:15PM and he literally told us there was not much wiggle time (maybe a minute or two) involved with that. I highly recommend you call and get the exact time you should trigger.

I'm sorry. I just re-read your post. I thought you were doing IVF. I don't have any experience with IUI's.  Still might not hurt to call and ask if a specific time is needed.  GL!

I know it's an IUI, but I agree with pp that it should be a little more precise than 'after 6pm' , if I remember right, mine were about 35-36 hours in advance. You may want to ask this question over on tttc as well, as a lot more of them are currently doing iuis, so maybe they know? Good luck to you!

Me: 35, DH: 36, ttc: 3+ years, dx: unknown
10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4
11/11: BFP! (surprise after thyroid med & normal hsg),
12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s,
1/12: D&C,
6/12 IUI #1: clomid, 5 mature follicles, excellent sperm,= BFN,
7/12: IUI #2: clomid, 3 mature follicles, excellent sperm= BFN,
8/12: IUi #3: clomid, 5 follicles, = BFP!, C/P
10/12 IVF #1: FSH 5.4, estradiol AFC: 14, long Lupron 150/bravelle75,5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast and 1 8 cell transferred. No frosties. BFN
IVF #2: AFC 21, MD lupron 12/25, 225bravelle/150men, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast BFN
IVF #3: natural start antagon, starting 3/30, ER 4/11, 12R,11M,10F

There isn't a nurses line for you to call?

That being said, I triggered at 9pm for an IUI at 10am 2 days later.
My Ovulation Chart
TTC with MFI and poor ovulation since 03/11
TCM and progesterone supplements
Early loss in 08/11
MFI Dx in 03/12 Low count, low motility, poor morphology and high levels of anti-sperm antibodies
Treated with supplements and TCM. Much lower on all factors. Count too low to test for anti-bodies
Met with new urologist 11/12
IUI #1 12/12: Letrozole + Gonal-F = BFN
DH started Clomid 01/13
New SA shows 33 million sperm! Thank you Clomid!!!
Discovered I am hypothyroid 04/13 waiting for specialist appointment
Hoping to try IUI again in July?

I think 36 hours prior to your appointment is a pretty safe bet.

There has to be a number that you can call to ask them.  It is usually 36 hours but with my iuis they gave me a time.  Good luck!

Beta 2 1-2-13 - 31
Beta 3 1-4-13 - 53
Beta 4 1/9 - 212!
Ultrasound 1/10 - Nothing completely empty uterus Beta 1/14 - 743; Beta 1/17 - 1704 ultrasound shows nothing. Officially a miscarriage. 1/21 Beta 3900 Dr. says it ectopic. Ultrasound shows a miracle heartbeat right in the uterus where it belongs! Dr. says I can be cautiously optomistic!!! Hang in there baby!

With my IUI I had a time frame of something along the lines of between 7-10 I think. I would try to call after hours line.

Its 36 hrs before your IUI. My first doctor told me 38 I didn't listen to him and did 36.5 hrs and Had of  my two 16mm become my bueatiful baby girl. This time I switched doctors and did 36 hrs. I felt it release my 17mm just 24 min before the 36 hr mark. Yes I am one of the crazies that can feel it reales   That just adds to my frustration of getting prego. I know it's not the timing. 

So I did 9pm last Friday and released just before 9am on Sunday.

Thanks so much. I got through on the main office line and a nurse from my office is supposed to be calling me back. 36 hours is what I'll do if I don't hear back soon.

I never made it to trigger w iui, but all my ivf triggers are 36 hrs before the procedure.

Feb'12- Clomid/TI with CD3 &21 labs(normal)& SA-count 6mil/ml,morph/motil OK-BFN
April'12 Ultrasounds,HSG -clear, slight acurate uterus
5/14 IUI #1-50 mg clomid-post wash total motile count 19.3 prometrium 2dpiui= BFN
6/11-IUI #2-100 mg clomid & prometrium post wash count total motile 17.5 = BFN
7/6 IUI#3 with 100 mg clomid, estridiol, prometrium. post wash total motile count 23.3 = BFN
8/30IVF#1 BCPs, Follistim, Menopur,Ganerelix,Novarel.
ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F.
ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
IVF#2 BCPs, Follistim, Menopur, Ganerelix, Novarel, Baby Aspirin
ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
2/13- Saline sono revealed a polyp. All additional labwork coming back normal. Genetic screen revealed DH has MTHFR deficiency & I am a carrier for it.
3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy
3/27 Began working with Reproductive Immunologist Dr. Kwak-Kim. Found High NK cells, High DHEAs, slight hypothyroidism, tendency toward blood clots (High PAI-1)Began synthroid & metformin 4/19.
