Yep, more MN help! :-)

I really have enjoyed this board for the past few weeks - some great name combinations and lots of useful help from other posters! I already posted once in my BMB about first names, but since we are set on the first (finally), we need some help with the middle! All middle names are family oriented.

Alice is what I want emotionally because that is my grandmothers name who I adore and pretty much raised me! But I'm not sure it sounds the best....my last name is short so sometimes I think logically - Katherine, but it's just not what my heart wants sometimes. KWIM?

I like Lucy Katherine and Lucy Alice and they both sound good with your last name.  I would go with Lucy Alice because it means so much to you and because it's a great name!  I LOVE Alice!

I know what you mean...with a shorter LN I would usually lean towards the longer MN as well BUT...I think you should go with Alice because it's clearly where your heart is.  It's a beautiful name.  Katherine might have a little bit of a better flow overall but really, you're only going to say FN MN LN together at the beginning when announcing a name, it's not something you're probably going to say all the time.  Does that make sense?  Sorry, I'm hopped up on cold meds and am not sure if my thoughts are coming out correctly in my typing.  Anyway, I think you should go with Lucy Alice.  Smile

I was trying to figure out why Lucy Alice sounded weird to me and that is exactly why.  I really like Lucy Katherine and Lucy Elaine.

I'd go with Alice if it is this significant. Any flow issues are trumped by meaning.

I love Lucy Elaine! But agree that meaning trumps flow, so if Alice is what you both love, that's what I would choose.
