I love my IF nurses.

So today I am awaiting the results of Beta # 2. Since we first experienced a chemical pregnancy with IVF # 1, Beta # 2 and # 3 are pretty much everything to my husband and I. We know what it's like to feel elated about the phone call that we are pregnant, only to have our bubble busted and feel like our heart has been ripped out. My RE clinic does not call for every single Beta. However, one of our nurses ran into my husband at Walgreens. She congratulated him and they started talking and he shared our concerns about how we pretty much want an update on every beta just so that we can be sure our numbers double. She said that typically they don't call for every beta but that she would give us her cell phone so that we could call her for our numbers. Today when I went in for bloodwork for my second beta she gave me a huge hug, congratulated me, and slipped me her cell phone number so I can call her (and I gave her my cell) or she would call me. I just don't want to be on an emotional roller coaster this time around, I want to know right away whether we should get out hopes up or not. IF sucks...it makes you hold your breath for everything. I am super happy about our positive, but I want more evidence lol. Thanks for listening to me ramble. I am going to miss my nurses when this is all over. I call them and e-mail them for everything and they're so nice about it and always get back to me so promptly. Plus, I feel like they share in both my joy and pain (except for one grumpy nurse..lol). Does anyone else have stories or anything to share about nurses you love at your RE's office?

Married for 3 years to the love of my life! TTC for over a year. Started seeing RE in April 2012. Lap in July revealed endo covering left ovary and part of my bowels. This will require extensive surgery by a specialist. RE wants us to have babies first because surgery could compromise my ability to carry. Started first round of IVF in August. Ten follies retrieved, eight fertilized, two frosties. IVF #1= C/P *Frozen Embie Transfer scheduled for end of Nov/Dec. Going to transfer 2 frosties if all goes according to plan*
FET # 1 [12/18]: Transferred two "beautiful" embies.
Beta # 1: 126 [BFP!]
Beta # 2: 546
Beta #3: 1618!!
Beta # 4 - 4954!!!!!! Ultrasound 1/18 - Two heartbeats at 121 and 136. Fraternal twins! Um, is this really happening?!

I am new to my RE's office (this will be my first cycle with them) and will be doing ivf in February (starting BCP's in a few weeks).  I had to call their main location office today to ask about freezing my husband's sample for a back up for the ivf, and got an extremely unpleasant receptionist who made me cry because she just wasn't answering my questions and kept repeating herself, which was not what i was asking.  I immediately called and left a message for my ivf nurse who called me back within minutes explaining and telling me not to worry.  made me feel better in seconds, all it takes for us IF folk is a little warm and fuzziness, yet some people just can't handle it.  I'm thankful to have a nurse that cares and takes the time to go beyond what is expected and can't wait to cycle with her.

Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Hoping and praying. Omg!!! Wow! That us going above and beyond. That was so awesome of her!

It turns out that her children are products of IF treatments so she truly knew where I was coming from. But I completely agree it was way above and beyond the call of duty.

I switched doctors in the practice this time around because the nurse always sounded annoyed by me. But God played a trick on me and she is now the IUI nurse for my new doctor. Bloody hell!
