Leakage

Im trying to figure out if I am prenant. I have a daughter that is about to be 3yrs old and I have been having really bad headaches and nausea. Also it seems that my breasts have been leaking a milky looking fluid the last couple of days. When I got pregnant with our daughter I never experienced any syptoms til my 5th month which is when we finally recieved a positive pregnancy test. So I am trying to see if any other mothers have experienced this before and if so was it with in the first trimester? Any help is appreciated! Thanks..

I think you need to test and see a doctor, or both.

You waited until you were 5 months PG before you had a positive test? This is not normal. If this is correct (?), you need to talk to a doctor.

Take a test and make a drs appt. I started leaking again after I hadn't BFd for more than 6 months. For me it was a stress issue but in can be an issue with the prolactin hormone and should be checked out.

yes I was already five months when I found out I was pregnant. I have always been irregular and hormones were always crazy. I never had any of the symptoms. The only reason we found out is because I got the flu and vertigo all in one and ended up in the hospital because of being so weak.

This will never make sense to me. Why are you not just taking a pregnancy test? You would have already had your question answered. Instead, you're asking Internet strangers if you're pregnant, and regardless of what we say, it will not give you the answer.
You can get a test for a dollar at a dollar store or for 88 cents at Walmart. Those can identify the pregnancy hormone better than we can.

Def make an appt with your doctor. They can do a blood draw to check for pregnancy and prolactin.

Why would it matter if anyone has had leaky boobs in pregnancy? What exactly will that tell you?

Advice:
Go to the drug store.
Buy a pink dye pregnancy test.
Pee in a cup.
Dip the HPT in the urine.
Wait the 3 to 5 minutes.
Read the answer.

No no, don't waste your doctor's time. Take an HPT is faster and cheaper.

Leaking collostrum from your breasts CAN be a pregnancy symptom. Lets be real and acknowledge that you want a board of pregnant women to say they have the same symptoms. Therefore you could be pregnant. We are KTFU, not stupid.

The only way to know is to purchase a pregnancy test and urinate on it. Sorry, I don't know what else we can tell you.

Even IF people have you their experiences with leaking fluid from their breasts it doesn't mean squat for you. Every body, set of breasts and pregnancy is different. All you can do is take an HPT and go from there.

Stop making it complicated.

She already took an HPT.
When I had leakage after a negative test my dr wanted to see me to be sure it wasn't another issue. I picked up my script for lab work and I went in for the results.

How is calling my doctor to ask her what it  could be or if I can go in to see her wasting her time. Isnt that a doctors job to check patients to make sure thatv everything is ok?  And what if I need a blood test since HPT dont usually work for me? And last time I checked I was aloud to ask for other mothers or mothers-to-be if they have had this experience. Again are you me NO your not! Do you know MY body no you do NOT! Have you experienced my life or my hormone issues? I think NOT! So why dont you take your ignorance some where else. Here I am asking if anyone has gone through this because I havent not with my daughter. Yes I understand every pregnancy is different and breasts are different but some people do have the same symptoms and some people experience the same thing in some cases. So unless you know EVERY SINGLE woman and what EVERY SINGLE one of them have gone through then how can you say that I am wasting time?

And if she's not pregnant and is actively leaking, that should be checked out.

You are asking very loudly, yes. Its a free, open internet message board. Therefore, no matter what you ask you will get a variety of answers. Do HPT "not usually work for you" or do you not tend to read directions or follow them? A lot of the time folks that claim that HPT's "don't work" are usually not using them properly.

As you said though, I don't know your body or your breasts. So why are you asking me or any other internet stranger what we think anyway? If we don't know you or your biology then why would our opinions or experiences matter?

Go ahead, go to the doctor if you feel like you need one. Then again, you could have saved everyone minutes of their lives (and apparently yourself a lot of freaking out unnecessarily on internet people) and just skipped this entire post to call your doctor.

I'd like to thank you for helping me keep my insurance premiums high though. Often the HPT urine tests sold online and in the drug stores are considerably more sensitive than those used in your doctor's office. If you can't turn an HPT its unlikely you will test positive with a blood sample, but since you know better than anyone else in the history of the world, go for it.

If you don't want anyone to answer (and not just those that stroke your ego) then go ask your friends or your mother. They will tell you what you want to hear.

So the pregnancy tests that I took my first pregnancy that were taken correctly that didnt detect my hormone levels for my daughter and came back negative I should have just stuck to those and went on with my daily life instead of going to my doctor right? And my doctors office was closed today. And how am I suppose to ask my mother if shes not around? HPT are soooo sensitive but It  took a hospital visit and an U/S to show that I was pregnant for sure when I had my daughter? And I pay for my medical just like any one else so why does it seem that its all about you. How about since you think its a waste of time for me to go to the doctor to make sure that not only me but my possibly unborn child (If it turns out I am pregnant) are ok? So again how is going to the doctor a waste of time? Do you like not go to the doctor or have something against be cautious. I thought this place was a place that women with questions could go to and not be greeted with the ignorance and disrespect you seem to have alot of.

I would make an appointment with your OBGYN to get checked out. Especially knowing that with your daughter you never got an HPT, that should really be your first step.

If you're not pregnant, they'll need to find out why you are leaking.

DOn't really want to get in the middle of this...but..

I have experienced leakage when NOT PREGNANT...turns out I was diagnosed with hyperprolactinemia due to a tumor on my pituitary gland...go to a doctor immediately!  You may need an MRI, and medication to fix the issue.

No problem...Don't get too stressed by the word "tumor" everyone I have met with this same condition is able to keep it under control with daily medication.  Good luck with the doctor.

Even if 100% of this board had nipple leakage or 0% did YOU still need to get checked out by a doctor since it might be a pregnancy symptom and might not. No matter what the response is of anyone of this board you still need to see a Dr to figure out what is going on.

This. OP, stop wasting everyone's time with your long-winded rebuttals and just go see your doctor already. You seem so bent on defending your right to see a doctor, so why haven't you gone already, you seem to not need anyone's advice or approval to do so anyways.  If you already know HPTs don't work for you and only a blood test can tell you what you need to know, then why you bothered with this board first only to attack anyone who tried to give you advice is beyond me. Obviously we don't know you, aren't giving you what you want, and this board is just not the place for you.  Move along now!

Even if 100% of this board had nipple leakage or 0% did YOU still need to get checked out by a doctor since it might be a pregnancy symptom and might not. No matter what the response is of anyone of this board you still need to see a Dr to figure out what is going on.

This exactly. Regardless of whether any of us have this since you clearly cannot take a HPT the only logical alternative is to go see the doctor which really makes this post irrelevant. It is not a question of should I go or not because either way you know  you have to. The outcome doesn't change whether we have it or not.
