Colette, Eleanor, Charlotte?

My husband and I are stuck. If this LO is a girl, we had originally planned on naming her Charlotte Pearl. Now that the a/s is next week...I'm flip flopping.

Pearl as a MN is a definite, but here are the other first names we're considering: [last name rhymes with sleuth]

Charlotte
Colette
Eleanor
Eloise

For mobile users, DD is named Lucille [Lucy] Mae.

Def Colette Pearl

Fresher than Charlotte, but still classic and pretty. Eleanor was on one of those "fastest rising name" lists recently and that would be a turn off for me. I like Eloise, but Colette (or Cosette) is my fav. Love the sibset

I wondered about Eleanor's rising popularity so thanks for the info. We are really really leaning towards Colette. I love the nn possibilities, too. Thanks for the input!

I like Colette. I'm sort of over Charlotte and Eleanor is pretty but El names seem really popular. Other suggestions:

H really wanted to call Charlotte by the NN Lottie, which I think is cute. If we go with Colette, he likes Lettie. He loooves the nicknames. :]

I like Pearl as first name but from your list, Colette is my fav

I love Colette as well but I think it's prettier written than spoke, if that makes any sense.  Charlotte and Eleanor are popular (meaning lots of people like them!) and Eloise is darling.  I'm not a fan of alliteration with sibsets so I wouldn't like Lucy and Lottie or Lucy and Lettie.  So I vote for Eloise Pearl.  I also like PP's suggestion of moving Pearl to the fn spot.

I agree that Colette [and Charlotte] don't roll off the tongue as smooth as say, Lucille. We really wanted to use Pearl as a first name but the concern is our last name being one syllable...I'll delete this later but her name would be Pearl [removed]. I'm not sure I like that. Sounds like a jewelry pusher, haha.

Hmm. I'm open to new name suggestions too.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm obsessed with Eloise but it's my husband's least favorite out of the choices. That's why I'm trying out other options.

Well my LO's mn is Lucille so I love that.  I see why you won't use Pearl as a fn and I would agree with that decision.

I think Colette makes the cutest sibset.  I have a friend named Colette and some people call her Colada as a nickname.  My favorite nickname for all names that end in "ette" is Etta.

Elosie would be my #1 pick. Then Collette (though I do agree with the bolded). I also like pp's suggestion of Cosette.

If my little guy had been a little girl he'd have been Eleanor Pearl so that gets my vote.

Although, Charlotte would have ranked higher if it wasn't off the table for us for other reasons.... so maybe that should get my vote!

A top contender for us right now is Eleanor and we have the same concerns about it rising in popularity. We still really love it. I like it best out of your choices though I also really love Eloise (H will not budge and add it to our hospital list).
