XP: DD Screams When We Put Her Down for Bed

mobile: DD Screams When We Put Her Down for Bed

Hey ladies,

Hope you're all well, and I'm sorry I haven't been around, but I need help!

C has been pretty good at sleeping over the last while. We moved C to her crib in her room last week and the first few nights were good. Since Saturday she's been difficult to get down to bed. DH puts her down (and I deal w/ MOTN feedings) and she eats well in the rocker, is calm when held, and he puts her down and she cries and screams. I don't know what to do!

We've let her just cry for at most 10 minutes sometimes and she just passes out and sleeps well after. I think she could be overtired, but we also thought she may have reflux. We thought it's reflux b/c when she's hungry she still fusses at the bottle, she arches her back, and seems most upset when flat on her back. I think we should take her to our doctor, but I also thought maybe it's normal.

When she gets up for her MOTN feeding(s) putting her back down was a challenge last night, but DH found she just needed more food! Some nights she just needs to be rocked more and held longer, but I also have heard she needs to fall asleep on her own even at this age.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any advice? Thanks for any help ladies!!

Try letting her sleep in a rock n play, bouncer or swing, where she's more upright and see if that helps.  My son had to sleep on an incline until he was 5 months old or he'd scream.

Do you swaddle her? She's awfully young so I probably wouldn't recommend letting her cry for long periods of time. Most babies do this, even when they get older because they simply don't want to be in their crib. Kinda just the way it goes sometimes :(

If you suspect reflux then have her checked out. That might explain some of the crying.

Maybe try putting mattress on an incline? That might help if she has reflux. DS is 9 weeks and sometimes he arches his back while eating. I take the bottle away and he freaks. I  think sometimes he just is super hungry and gets ahead of himself gulping it down. As for switching to crib, I ave no advice, I am about to attempt it myself this weekend. Good luck!
