Elinor (Eleanor) is on the "fast rising baby name" lists going around. That is a turn off for me

I find Amelie to be pretentious unless you are actually French. It is a beautiful name when pronounced correctly, something I think many Americans may struggle with

Rosalie is pretty.

Cecilia is just eh

Elinor - old lady name and dislike this spelling

Amelie - ok but potential pronunciation issues and Amelia is very popular right now if that bothers you

Rosalie - twilight

Cecilia - really like

Elinor is my favorite (and I like that spelling because it is a family name).  I also like Cecilia.

Amelie is pretty, but I prefer Amelia.

Rosalie also makes me think of Twilight, though I don't hate the name.

Elinor is my DD, so I give it a thumbs up.

I like Amelie a lot, but I think it will get pronounced wrong, so I'd either go with Emily, Amelia, or avoid it.

I like Rosalie.

Cecilia, you're breaking my heart. That's all I can think of when I hear this name. I don't love it.

I love Elinor. I like it spelled Elinore, though that's just my personal preference. It helps me to think about possible  nicknames: Ellie,  Amy, Rose or Rosie, and CiCi. Though I prefer full names over nicknames, thinking of this has helped DH and me eliminate some names we loved because of unwanted nicknames!

I'd be one of the many stuggling with this...I'm pronouncing it Am-a-lee but I know I'm not saying it right. What is the proper way to pronounce this name?

In French it it pronounced a- MÉ- lee (mé is said kind of like meh)

Elinor - when I first found the BNB I thought this was refreshing to hear, but now I feel like I see it all the time.  I also have heard it more IRL and I don't get the new widespread appeal of it

Amelie - Like

Rosalie - Like, 2nd choice

Cecilia - Love, definitely favorite in the list

Oh, I like all of these!

Elinor - a bit tired now, I think.  Eleanor (and Nora) has been popular for awhile.  Still, excellent name.

Amelie - love.  So pretty.

Rosalie - my favorite!!

Cecilia - I like this one, too, but it would rank below Rosalie and Amelie.

You really can't go wrong here.

EDIT: I'm confused on how people are pronouncing Amelie.  It's ahm-eh-lee.  How else would people say it?  The movie beat it into my head :-)

In my head I was thinking that it was like Emily on with an A...s more of a hard A like the work "am" instead of "ahm"

Elinor - I usually like "old lady" names but not this one so much

Amelie- not really sure how this one is pronounced

Rosalie - I like it but I'm not sure what Twilight has done to it's popularity.

Cecilia - Really like it.

Elinor: I prefer the "normal" spelling of Eleanor, but the name itself just doesn't do it for me.

Amelie: I like it. Pp said something about not using it unless you are French, which is stupid because we use names from other nations all the frickin' time. The name is pretty.

Rosalie: my fav of your choices

Cecilia: Don't care for it. Just not my style (perhaps a lame answer, but that's all I've got).
