FET ?'s

So my beta yesterday confirmed that I did in fact have a c/p. our next step is going to be some more tests, I'm not sure what yet, and then move on to a FET. Besides the obvious lack of ER, how does a FET usually go? I'm wondering about meds, timelines, etc. Our WTF is next week, but I'd like to get an idea of how it works and how soon we can move on with it.

It depends on if you are doing a medicated or a natural FET.

I did a natural. I was med free with monitoring until ovulation was confirmed. I'm a late O'er so I was about CD21 for me. Then I began Estrace (1xday) and Prometrium (2xday). FET was 5 days later and I continued with the meds until Beta.

*u/s & b/w dx PCOS 05/2011*
1/2012 RE Consult
1/2012-3/2012: 3 cycles of Clomid + Ovidrel + TI = BFN
4/2012: 100mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #1 = Canceled, zero sperm
Repeat SA Confirms Azoo

*DH dx Azoo due to CUAVD(R) & obstructed Vas(L)*
9/2012- mTESE: Sperm Found & 12 Vials Frozen

10/2012: MiniIVF w/ICSI: Beyaz, Clomid, Gonal F, Nasal Spray Trigger
10/1 - Start BCP for 14 days
10/18 - Stims: 50mg Clomid & 75iu Gonal-F
10/30- Trigger w/ Syranel Nasal Spray
11/1 ER: 3R, 2F & 1 pending
11/8: 1 grade B blastocyst frozen
11/19 Hysteroscopy
12/8: Begin Estradiol & Prometrium
12/13 FET = BFN

I'm so sorry!! I know the heartbreak you're feeling.  :(

I'm doing my FET right now and can only tell you what I've experienced. 

We decided to jump right back in, so once AF started I had to have another saline sonogram because of our loss. I was put on birth control from CD5-CD21 (today), 10 units of Lupron started on CD15 for 2 weeks, now I have to wait for AF again and then I'll go in for a suppression check and then will either continue lupron until I'm where they want me or begin hormone replacement therapy (estrace & progesterone) for 21 days, thaw of our embies & transfer is scheduled on day 22.

As for appointments/monitoring, I will have 3 appointments total, the saline sono, suppression check, & transfer.  It's A LOT less stressful.

I am so sorry! With my experience with most recent FET:

BCP 11/1 to 11/24,

Lupron 11/19 to 12/8,

estrace 11/30 and continue after ET,

delestrogen twice a week starting 11/30 and continue after ET

PIO starting 12/9 and continue after ET.

ET was 12/15.

After ET then add in progesterone suppositories.

Also the usual prenatals and folic acid and baby aspirin from the start.

Sooooo much easier and less stressful than fresh IVF cycle.
2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13

I am sorry to hear about your c/p.  Here is my experience with FETs:

CD3 - Start BC pills & remain on for 2+ weeks

Baseline & stop BC pills, start Estrogen on the following Saturday

On Estrogen for 2.5 weeks.  One week in, add Progesterone, Methylprednisone, & baby aspirin.

Day of transfer ~ continue estrogen, progesterone & baby aspirin through beta.

My TTC Journey:
Dx: Hypothalamic amenorrhea
Progesterone to induce period w/ the goal of Clomid - never got period (September 2011). RE referral.
Femera - never responded to the meds (December 2011)
Clomid with TI - BFN (February 2012)
Injectables (Menopur) - hyperstimulated/canceled (March 2012)
Injectables #2 (Menopur) with TI- BFN (May 2012)
IVF - OHSS (transfer canceled), but 11 frozen! (June 1012)
FET - 1 transferred on 8/09/12. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): 350.3; Beta#2: 365; Beta#3: 157. Biochemical pregnancy.
FET # 2 - 1 transferred on 11/01/12. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): 337; Beta#2: 769. BFP!!! 1st ultrasound 11/28/12 showed heartbeat, but measuring 5 days behind. 2nd ultrasound 12/05/12 - miscarriage.
FET # 3 - 1 transferred on 1/24/13. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): BFN.
FET # 4 - 2 transferred on 3/28/13. Beta #1 (11dp5dt): 673; Beta #2: 1265. Just under 6 weeks - m/c at home. WTF appointment in late May.

I'm not sure how FET works since I've never done one but just wanted to say sorry about your c/p and best of luck on the upcoming FET :)

March 2012--Clomid --No response-Straight to injects!
April & May 2012-- IUI#1 & #2 = BFN
July 2012- IVF#1 cancelled
September 2012-IVF#1.2--BFN
November 2012- IVF #2 --BFN
January 2013- IVF #3-- BFFN
February 2013--Found a new RE but first back to the Endocrinologist for more diagnostic testing
Absolutely no idea when we can cycle again...looking into DE as well if IVF#4 fails again
PAIF/SAIF encouraged...give me some hope!!

You have gotten some good ideas of how it goes but since mine goes a little differntly ill throw in my two cents. After a failed or in my case cancelled cycle I take 10 days of estrace and provera, have a period, go in for baseline. If all clear start estrace, oral, vaginal and patch. 3 days before transfer I begin PIO (ive never made it this far), transfer, continue estrace, patches, PIO.

Beta Buddy, I'm so sorry to hear this. I had a c/p with my first round of IVF and it seems like when we did our FET everything is going really well so far. Since all of the ladies above went through what you will be taking to prep, I won't go through it again but I will tell you in my opinion, it is a lot less stressful than going through the entire IVF cycle again. I am thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers. Again, I'm so sorry... it can be so devastating to be on a "high" from getting the good news only to have your hopes crushed. May 2013 bring you everything your heart desires!
Married for 3 years to the love of my life! TTC for over a year. Started seeing RE in April 2012. Lap in July revealed endo covering left ovary and part of my bowels. This will require extensive surgery by a specialist. RE wants us to have babies first because surgery could compromise my ability to carry. Started first round of IVF in August. Ten follies retrieved, eight fertilized, two frosties. IVF #1= C/P *Frozen Embie Transfer scheduled for end of Nov/Dec. Going to transfer 2 frosties if all goes according to plan*
FET # 1 [12/18]: Transferred two "beautiful" embies.
Beta # 1: 126 [BFP!]
Beta # 2: 546
Beta #3: 1618!!
Beta # 4 - 4954!!!!!! Ultrasound 1/18 - Two heartbeats at 121 and 136. Fraternal twins! Um, is this really happening?!

Like PP said, it all depends on on if you are doing a natural or medicated. If you do a medicated, it also depends on the protocol as well. My last FET I did a month of Lupron, added Estrace and PIO about 5 days I believe before the ET. Then, 2 weeks later had my Beta, although I didn't wait the full 2 weeks, (my office makes you wait 2 full weeks, seriously, before your first Beta.).

I am doing a medicated cycle.  I am going to be on delestrogen (IM estrogen, but your RE may use PO too) twice weekly for 2.5 weeks.  PIO starts 5 days before ET and continues daily. I don't need lupron since I don't ovulate on my own.  It is a lot less monitoring and much easier than fresh cycle.

Married June 2011
Dx: anovulatory due to prolactinoma (1.5cmx 1.5cm in 2006)
April 2012: MRI- questionable cyst 8mg by 12mm in pituitary
referred to RE by Ob-gyn after amenorrhea x 4+ months, provera ineffective, low estrogen level
cycle 1: May 2012, clomid 50mg; cycle cancelled, thin lining, no response
cycle 2: June 2012, femara 5mg; cycle cancelled, no response
cycle 3: July 2012, femara 7.5mg; cycle cancelled (largest folli on Cd12 & cd 16: 11, lining 4)

Aug. 8: met with RE, move to injectables if HSG and SA normal
Aug. 23: HSG all clear; DH- perfect
Switched to a new RE in early Sept. IVF here we come
Genetic testing reveals: Fragile X- Intermediate risk/grey zone.
IVF#1: ER 11/30: 14 retrieved, 10 mature, 7 fertilized. E2 prior to trigger 5200. Decision made to freeze 6 embryos and transfer later due to OHSS.
IVF#1.2/FET #1: estrogen injects start 1/18, FET delayed to try to thicken lining. lining 5.4mm. FET- 2/18- transferred one 3AA expanded blast. BFP 5dp5dt. Beta #1- 2/27 9dp5dt- 102.27 beta #2 3/1: 147 :(, beta #3 3/4: 268 stop meds. #4: 269, #5 133, #6 72, still in beta hell. Beta 7 (3/25) 29.
