MD appt tomorrow

I mentioned this in my post in the 2ww this AM but haven't heard anything back, so I thought that I would ask again.  I have my annual OB/GYN appt tomorrow am, I am currently 8dpo and my temps are still high.  I know it's still too early to take a HPT and I know they will ask the obligatory "when was your LMP" question, but that doesn't really address if I think I am pregnant or not, should I mention it to them? Would a blood test this early in the game show them anything one way or the other. All other times I have had an annual I have never been in this 2ww phase, so I am just unsure.

I've always been asked if its possible I'm pregnant. If I say yes it's possible, which it is if you're having unprotected sex, I usually do a pee test in the office.

I wouldn't bother bringing it up though if they don't ask. There's nothing really different they'll do. I think a pap is the only thing they won't do, depending on your apt type, they might not even be doing that.

Eta: it's also incredibly early for you.

You could mention that you are waiting for the next couple days to see if your are pregnant.  Unless you have a history of loss etc. there is no reason for a blood test besides impatience at this point.  Good Luck.

This exactly.  Just mention you could be, but it's too early to test.

It might show up in blood work, it might not, it really depends on when implantation occurred which varies from person to person.

Thanks ladies.  I will see what they ask and go from there.  They will be doing a Pap as they do at all of my yearly appts.  I have had a m/c prior to having DD and I know that it's really early.  Either way, even if they decided against doing anything I have to drop off the results from my genetic test that I had done to determine if I have the gene for breast/ovarian cancer (thankfully I do not).

Thanks again

How stupid is your OB that they would be unable to determine where you are at in your cycle based on your LMP?

You have zero reason to have a blood test done other than being impatient and selfish.

I am not asking them for a blood test, I just didn't know when I said when my LMP was what they would "assume" from that.   Of course I will be telling them that I am no longer on the pill and that we are actively trying.  I was asking if they would be asking me to do a blood test as I would prefer to NOT have something done if it's going to be inconclusive and just billed to my insurance for no real reason. Not sure how that's being impatient or selfish.

Meh, I don't see anything wrong with asking for a blood test.  Might cost you money though.

What could they possibly assume from your LMP other than what cycle day you are on? And you think they would make you do a blood test when you don't want one and it's very likely too early to get a positive result anyway? I am confused.

Again...  I Was not thinking they would do anything (blood test) but was asking what others thought.  I will discuss things with them when I am there tomorrow.  I do not want a blood test as I am not a fan of needles and prefer to not be stuck if I don't have to be.  I was just unsure if I should mention anything more to them then being off the pill and actively TTGP.

Nope, they still do a pap even if you are pregnant.  Any decent MD will ask what form of BC she's using, what CD she is on, and draw their own assumptions.  They won't test unless she specifically asks to--which would be just due to impatience.
