Am I a horrible person if...

I wait till the second trimester to work out again?  I am 9 weeks and I have horrible fatigue and a little nausea. I just feel like crap and all I want to do is rest. I do walk my dogs around the neighborhood a few times during the day, so I'm getting some movement in, but ugh I'm so tired.

Not at all. I can hardly make it up the stairs in my house! There's no way I'd be able to work out right now.

I cant even seem to take my dogs for a walk lately... By the time I get home from work I just want to sit, eat, and fall asleep!

I have been lucky and haven't been very sick.  I am extremely tired after work, so I've been trying to work out in the morning.  Sometimes that means sitting on the exercise bike at a casual pace while watching TV for 30 minutes.  On other days I am able to get a 5 mile run in.  On other days, I'm sweating and breathing heavy just walking from the bed to the bathroom and I decide to just go back to bed.  I say listen to your body and it is better to lay low for awhile than to exhaust yourself.

Definitely not a horrible person! I feel the same way! Just remember that not working out is gonna make it that much harder to start again. Not to mention that exercise generally gives you energy. (I'm a bumpie but also a prenatal certified personal trainer :-)

I don't think so at all! I feel the same way: I have enough energy for work but after that I'm completely drained.

Naw, you're fine. Maybe try adding 10 more minutes to the dog walks just to get a little more exercise in. Exercising doesn't do anything for my nausea, but by God it does wonders for the fatigue.

I'm debating putting my gym membership on hold for the next 2 months until I feel more like myself again.  So I hope you're not terrible.  Because then I am too.

Nope! Not a horrible person. My doctor says "Listen to your body...It'll tell you what to do." I'm 16 weeks & I JUST started on the treadmill today! If you feel you need the rest, then rest! You might have some "feel good" days that you can get in some light exercise- I take advantage of those days and walk! Congrats!

I can barely sit at my desk all day nevermind work out. My coworkers (who don't know I'm prego yet) keep asking me to take gym classes with them and I come up with an excuse every time they ask.

I hope to have more energy in my 2nd trimester because I am WIPED out! I fall asleep at 8:45-9 every night and its hard to get up in the morning.

Thank you so much for the responses ladies. Is nice knowing people feel the same way. I'm hoping and praying for a burst of energy soon...I don't even want to do the dishes, that's how unenthusiastic I am about doing anything. Haha. I'm afraid of hurting the baby by not doing exercise right now, but I have 3 more weeks till second tri.  Thank god. Xo
