afsalinas:Ice the area first, lie down while he gives the injection and get yourself some bandaids that make you smile :-)
Love the idea of getting bandaids that make you smile. :) So icing beforehand is okay? I'm new to all of this.
I give myself all of my SubQ shots in the stomach (Menopur, Bravelle, Ganerelix) and Hubby gives me my IM shots (trigger, PIO) in my backside, simply because it's an inconvenient reach.
Rosy, I personally don't find a need to waste time icing. If it helps you, then go for it. The one shot it is not recommended for is the PIO, simply because the cold makes it harder to inject. Instead, with PIO, you want to warm the oil in your hands before injecting. Also, keep in mind, everyone reacts differently. For me, the Menopur & Bravelle were fine, but the Ganarelix burned and itched for about 30 minutes afterward. Good luck!
