My update (loss mentioned)

So here we are, 7 weeks after my great 1st beta, which went up slowly (never doubled in the right amount of time) and started to come back down shortly after. I had a lot of bleeding right after I stopped progesterone and thought I'd be done with it all and ready to start again quickly, but in mid-December, my hcg stalled out in the 40s. My doctor was concerned it might be ectopic, so I had my first round of methotrexate (MTX) shots. Ten days later, the numbers were still the same in the mid 40s, so we did yet another round of MTX shots.  Finally, we are getting somewhere, and my number today was 22. I can't believe it has taken this long, and am hoping the last 22 go away quickly so we can start FET #2, maybe in February. 

The holidays were really trying for me - I went from such excitement and happiness about the future on Thanksgiving to utter devastation and depression for the next almost two months. I'm slowly crawling out of that black hole, and I finally took the initiative to make an appointment with a therapist next week to start healing myself.  I had a ton of blood work and genetics screenings done, and my husband had his karyotype done, and everything looks normal - no genetic problems, no natural killer cells, no clotting disorders.

We have five frozen embryos, and I just have to hope that one of those will be my take home babe. Hope to join the February Valentines (or whatever we end up with), and hoping for a very happy 34th birthday present. 

Me: 33, DH: 32, Started TTC #1 since November '11
Saw RE April 2012 due to irregular cycles, Dx'd PCOS (normal weight)
Clomid 50mg, 100mg, then Femara 7.5, no response after 7 cycles
Testing = normal CD3 bw, normal HSG, v high antral follicle count; good DH SA
IUI #1 on 7/11/12 but poor monitoring and found out after that I never ovulated
New RE; Begin IVF September '12: Lupron, Gonal-F, Ovidrel trigger
14 days of stims, ER 9/30/12 (17 eggs, 12 fert)
ET 10/5/12, single blast transfer, 6 frozen
Home Digi 10/13 (8dp5dt): BFP! Beta 1: 11, Beta 2: 10 = chemical preg :(
FET #1 single embryo transfer: 11/10/12
5dp5dt:BFP! Beta 1- 122; Beta 2- 160; Beta 3- 202; Beta 4- 276
Poor prognosis, U/S inconclusive, 11/27 stopped all meds

1/23/13, hcg finally at zero. Blood work shows abnormal NK cell activity, but holding off on treatment this cycle
FET #2: 2/9/13, Beta #1, 2/18/13: 265!!, Beta #2, 2/20/13: 570!!, Beta #3 2/22/13: 1445!! Saw gestational sac and yolk sac on US 2/26/13

So sorry blue! I think seeing a therapist is great to work out all the feeling that come with such a loss. Good luck to you and hope 2013 is a good turn around for you!

I'm so sorry you're back here.  I am pretty much in the same boat -- successful fresh IVF cycle in November, m/c in December, 5 frosties, waiting for a FET.  My RE wants me to wait until my 2nd period after D&E, so I think I'll actually be a March cycler.

So glad to hear your testing came out fine and your HCG is finally coming down.  Good luck going forward!

Siggies are messed up.  I had a pregnancy ticker and had a really hard time getting rid of it after my loss.  People suggested logging out of and back into my account, deleting my cookies/browser history, and restarting my computer -- nothing worked.  And then one day it just changed.  So I'm sorry I can't offer much advice on that, but I agree that it's very frustrating!

TTC #1 since 2008. IUI #1: Clomid+trigger=BFN. IUIs #2-4: Femara+Follistim+trigger=BFNs.
IVF #1, Nov 2012: Bravelle+Menopur. 17R, 12M (all ICSIed), 6F. 5 day transfer of 2 embies=BFN. 2 embies frozen.
FET #1: started BCPs April 2013.

Me (33)- unexplained MH (35)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist = BFN c/p, poor quality blasts, tested sperm dna fragmentation. Results all good, yay! New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS 4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice Everyone Welcome!!!

we are going for FET #2 on Feb. 1st too!

I felt like I had to wait forever for my number to drop. Mine stalled for awhile then finally went down. I felt like a pin cushion from all the blood tests. I know once m/c happened I just wanted it to be back to 0 so I could start over.

TTC since 5/11 both uf us are >35 Clomid 4cycles pregnancy ended in MC 6/12 IUI #1,2, 3 and 4 ALL BFN. Moved on to IVF in Jan. 2013 Beta #1 288, Beta #2 529 Heartbeat on 2/8! no heart beat at 15 weeks, baby is dead.

I'm so sorry. What a nightmare to be waiting and waiting just to get to the next step and be able to deal with your loss.

As far as the sig goes, someone told me to open two windows, one with a post you'd written and another with your signature edit. Save the signature edit, then go back to the post and refresh to see if it took. If you go back and forth enough times, it will eventually change. But it took me forever. 


TTC #1 for about 3.5 years
ME: 37, PCO, immune issues?, teflon uterus (my added diagnosis)
HIM: 38, Perfect. (Showoff.)
Month before starting Clomid, spontaneous pregnancy. m/c at 7 weeks and D&C.
Four months of Clomid, one IUI, with Intralipid each cycle: BFNs all
IVF 1.0 July 2012 -- Lupron, bravelle, menopur, estrogen, progesterone supps, intralipid. 14 ER, 14 fertilized, 1 blast transferred, 2 on ice. BFN
FET 1.1 -- 10/2, transferred our 2 blasts. Lupron, PIO, estrogen, baby aspirin, prednisone. BFN.
IVF 2.0 December 2012 -- Bravelle, Menopur, Ganirelix, Prednisone, Metformin, estrogen, progesterone supps. 22 eggs retrieved on 12/14, 17 mature, 15 fertilized. OHSS anticipated so ET cancelled. 3 embryos frozen.
Broke up with old RE. Moving on to new dude. Maybe the change of scenery will be just the trick for our frosties. On BCPs for possible April FET.

Sorry to hear what you have been going thru in the past few weeks  :(.  Here's hoping for good news in 2013 and that you can truly celebrate a very happy 34th b-day!
Me:33 TTC since 2008 Feb08: ruptured Ectopic(surgically removed right tube and ovary) Oct12: Began seeing a Fertility Doctor Dx:Anovulation, Provera to force period, clomid 50mg, Day 12 ultrasound showed no follicles/no ovulation. Dec12: Day 3 Antral Follicle Count; ONE, FSH also jumped from 8.4 to 24, increased clomid dosage to 150mg

Me: 38,DH: 46, Married 10/07/2011, TTC since 09/2011, 03/2012 Started Clomid, 04/2012 Clomid, 05/2012 Clomid, 06/2012 Went to RE, he found a plum size fibroid in uterus, husband has low sperm count, 06/06/2012 Removed fibroid, 08/2012 Hysteroscopy, 09/27/2012 started IVF meds, 10/10/2012 Retrieved 8 eggs, 5 fertilized, 10/13/2012 Transferred 3 eggs - 8, 5, and 4 cells, 10/26/2012 BFP!! Beta: 11, 10/26/12 Beta: 2 = Chemical Pregancy
