XP - csection mommas or those who may get one...

just a tip...i just remembered as i was 'blindly grooming' myself this morning - either get waxed or shave the top bit of hair off your bits...

i remembered when i was in the hospital with DS1 and had an emerg csection so although i was prepared i wasn't thinking about having tape down there...they put a piece of gauze with surgical tape around it to cover the incision for the first day at least - i think i had it on for a couple days actually.

try thinking about taking off tape or a bandaid down there!!! keep the hair very short at least at the top of your pubic bone if you don't normally shave or wax..

I heard that unless the hair will get in the way, they do not make it a practice to shave you because it can lead to infection, at least with other surgeries.  I was planning to ask the doctor about that because I was thinking of at least trimming plus making sure the incision area was shaved.....if I can see. >.>

I get c-sections and my doc actually tells me not to shave. Trimming is okay but they do not want me to shave due to ingrown hairs that may occur in the incision once they stich you back up.

Yup. Mine would've shaved the morning of surgery if I hadn't already done it the previous day myself.

Interesting! They didn't shave me (also had an emergency or unplanned c-section with DS). I don't remember painful hair though, when removing the gauze/tape, so maybe it wasn't that bad...

The nurse tried to shave me prior to mine but I had already done it so she didn't need to. The only thing I remember hurting was when I went to remove the tape a few days later, the hair had grown back and that hurt. It took awhile before I was confident enough to shave close to my incision again. It wasn't pretty for several weeks lol
