Worst Baby Names

Ok ladies, I need some entertainment this morning so I'm hoping some of you have heard or seen some terrible names and name combinations.  If my DH and I were mean future parents, we could create some pretty awful name combinations with our last name but we are going to refrain from doing it.  So let's hear the names!

Dawanna Mann

Daneeda Mann

And yes, there are two little baby girls in west Philly named these two (a good friend from high school delivered them).  I think mommy was a little bitter when she delivered them...

I think the worst I've ever heard was from my mom when she was a L&D nurse. She had a woman name her fraternal twins Male (pronounced Molly) and Female (pronounced Femolly) because she thought the sex was their name when she saw the paperwork. Apparently she left the hospital with those names for her kids. I hope they change it when they are old enough!

This story always amuses me... I don't know why, it just does. I wish they could figure out if it's true or not

Then there's always the recent baby who was given the name Hashtag.  And I'm not a fan of naming your kid "Nevaeh" because it spells heaven backwards... Other than that, most of my friends have come up with pretty "normal" names for their kids.  H has a friend who named her son 'Skylar Max' which I think sounds like a girl's name than a boy's, though.

Oh wait! I have a supe at work who's family is big into the military. Her daughter just named the newest addition to their family "Delta" can you guess what other kind of names are in the family?

Hahaha, I can't believe someone would name their children those names! There are a couple celebrity children's names that are terrible. A couple of the worst ones are Moxie Crimefighter, Pilot Inspektor, Fifi Trixiebell, Audio Science, and Diva Thin Muffin. I think I would disown my parents if they ever named me one of those!

Also, I used to work at a doggie daycare where a couple of the dogs had interesting names. The one I will never forget was a chocolate lab named Fudge. It's not so bad, fits the dog perfectly, except for the fact that the owner's last name was Packer. Yep, Fudge Packer. We always wondered if they named him that on purpose or never put two and two together...

If we have a boy, his initials will be B.R.A.

Also, working the pharmacy, I have seen rx's come through for "baby girl (last name here)". Really parents?

My DH's Aunt is a head nurse in the labor and delivery center at our local hospital. About 10 years ago she was working with a woman, who didn't have very good literacy skills, to fill out her daughters birth information. DH's Aunt asked, "What are you going to name your daughter?" The Mom replied, "Shithead." DH's Aunt asked to clarify how she was going to spell that and the lady replied, "S-H-I-T-H-E-A-D." HAHAHAHA!

That poor girl is walking around now somewhere with the name *** HEAD! It is supposed to be pronounced (shetheed), I guess.

There was a guy that went to my high school way before I went.
His name was Herman Hyman.
He was a good athlete so his name is plastered on all the trophies and awards.

I also worked with a lady who was named Anita and she married into the name Mann. She said that she seriously thought about not changing her to her married name.

My brother's high school buddy's last name is Mellon.  He named his son Walter, and swears if he has a daughter, he'll name her Ima.

My friend is a Teach for America teacher in Detroit and said he has a student named "Sha-a" pronounced "Shadasha".

Well, my GGM passed away 15 years ago.  She was almost 99.  I want to say this happened MANY years before that.  Maybe back in the '60's or '70's...

I work with kids.  I have heard lots and a lot are very very old and overdone...not to mention every parent spelling the same name 100 different ways just so their kid is unique...just like every other child.

But the two absolute worst were Sparkles and Jellybean.  Don't even begin to ask!

The Baby Names board are always full of naming disasters....

My favorites (that people told me):

A friend of a friend knew a girl named Rhoda who married a guy with the last name Duck (no clue if this is true or not).

Another friend who's last name was Tholl (pronounced Toll) his cousin married a girl named Jenna (again - can't verify if this is true, but he said his cousin took the woman's last name to spare her an unfortunate name)

A friend of mine said at his work, when you print to the main printer it shows first initial, last name - after seeing this one, he looked up the other employee, and this guy's name is  A. S. Shole.man (period added to deter googling).

I used to have a job where I did the billing for special needs services.  I used to get so irritated because here are these special needs children and as if they didn't have enough challenges, the names their parents stuck them were awful:

LePrince, ShaPrincess, Sh*thead (pronounced sha-theed, it's not an internet joke, it's a real name) and my favorite of all time:  Le-a.  I had to call about Le-a one day and when I got the school secretary on the line, I told her I needed the records for Leah LastName.  She didn't know who I was talking about so I pronounced it a few other ways.  Finally, I spelled the name for her and she said, "Ohhhhh, that's Ledasha."  I was like, "WHAT?"  And she replied, "Yeah, Le-a is Ledasha.  The dash don't be silent."

When I was a kid, part of our neighhourhood was having the sidewalk replaced and a kid carved "A.S.S." into the wet cement. I thought he did it to be funny, so I scratched it out. I later found out that it was his initials...whoops.

I saw the name Ketly on Pinterest and thought it was terrible. But I Googled it and it's another one of those surnames that has apparently made its way to a first name. I've seen some terrible names in my area, but I can't remember most of them, except for Kiariea...Key-air-ee-uh?

ETA: I also met a little girl named Caden.
