girl names??? WDYT

Dylan and Devon???

two girls on sesame street were named this and IDK, it was kinda weird hearing these names on girls... WDYT?

I have heard them both on females before. I prefer them on males but I think they are better than some of the ones I have heard on girls lately.

To me Dylan is all boy.  Devon is slightly more unisex to me. 

 I don't like either for a girl though, personally.

To me, these will always be boys names.  If I had to pick one for a girl though, I'd go with Dillon (and this spelling for a girl).

 

I think Katherine's daughter on Desperate Housewives was named Dylan/Dillon.

Dylon is all boy IMO
I know a girl named Devon and it works for her but I don't know that it would work for every girl.

I agree that they sound more like boys.

At least they are both girls.  If it was a boy and a girl, I'd constantly be trying to remember which was the boy and which was the girl.

Eh, one of the "first" Devons was a soap opera character who was an unwed mom back when that was an undesirable thing. She was named Devon for the neighboring town outside of Pine Valley.

To me, that and Ryan (another soap name) will always be girl names.

My best friend just named their daughter Dylan. Ralph Lauren's daughter's name is Dylan.  She owns Dylan's Candy Bar in NYC. Oprah did a story on her. I think that's why it's getting popular on girls.

Weird. I definitely think of both as boy names. I know Devon can be more unisex but I've always hated that as a girl name.
