Costco brand diapers

Hi everyone! I originally posted this on the Pampers board, but thought I'd post it here as well.

My husband and I received a Costco membership for Christmas from his parents and are loving the prices on Kirkland diapers, but I'm a Pampers girl. Sadly, Costco does not sell Pampers, only Huggies, which I refuse to use! (My stepmom tried them with my little brother and they sucked.. leaked, rash, etc.,). While we were at Costco setting up our membership, the girl told us that Kirkland diapers are actually Pampers, just with the Kirkland name instead of Pampers. I asked her why they don't sell Pampers and she said because Pampers won't let them because people are willing to pay the extra money for their name (which is totally true and I'm one of those people). She said that anything Kirkland brand is a name brand product that doesn't want their name to be sold 'cheaply'.. makes sense. She said when she had her daughter, she was strictly Pampers, but once she heard how they were the same diapers, she gave them a try and loved them.

I'm still a little hesitant since she works at Costco and I'm sure is a little biased.. Any Pampers lovers try Kirkland and made the switch?

Thank you! I'm just disappointed they don't have newborn sizes.. we're not quite into size 1 yet and I'm sick of buying the little bags of Pampers newborns- we don't want to buy too many since he's gaining weight like a champ!

I hated the kirkland brand. The wetness indicator didn't work and they leaked all the time.

They worked the same for me as Huggies or Pampers.  I admit, I'm not picky - I've tried so many and LO has the same number of blow outs or leakages from all types.  The most important thing I notice is sizing.

I wouldn't say I switched, but I definitely use them, and have had no problems!

I was gifted costco, pampers and huggies for LO.  so far hate huggies, looove costo, and like pampers.  imo, Costco diapers alone are worth the membership.

i tried pampers swaddlers once and HATED the smell, i have a "super sniffer" and am sensitive to smells.  

Do the costco brand diapers have that same baby powder smell?

However, I heard they are the same as Huggies Supreme.

I love Kirkland diapers and have used them for both of my daughters. I will use them again for this little girl as soon as she fits into them since she is still in newborn diapers. When I can't buy Kirkland, I always buy Pampers, never Huggies.

I'm a pampers mom too. I hate huggies. I find the Kirkland diapers are the next best thing. I would still prefer pampers when on sale but wouldn't turn my nose up at the Kirkland brand at all. I've found the wetness indicator works just fine.

I read online that Huggies manufactures Kirkland diapers, but when I brought that up to the Costco girl, she told me they're not because Costco sells Huggies and that they wouldn't sell the same thing. Whether that's true or not, who knows lol

I had major leak issues with Huggies. Just minor ones with Kirklands and less with pampers. I think my minor leaks are mainly case the Kirklands are a wee bit too big. Unless we start having major leak issues we will keep using Kirklands.

Actually, Huggies brand manufacturers make Kirkland brand diapers, not Pampers, knowing this as a Huggies momma and an employee of Costco for 5 years. If you were to hold both brands you would definitely be able to tell that they are nothing like Pampers. So if you don't like Huggies, I don't recommend buying them.
