Diaper Bag Shopping, Quick Question

Hey ladies! I think I finally feel confident enough to know what kind of diaper bag I would prefer....so I jump online and have one more question for you all.

How much would/should/did you buy on diaper bags?

I saw one for a whopping $25 bucks and was quite surprised to find it that cheap. I don't want to get one that is going to fall apart within a couple months, I'd like to have one and use it for as long as possible (past a year or two at least). If it matters, I'm planning on using a messenger style bag.

ETA for Clarification: I'm actually asking for an opinion: Did you buy a $25 bag and thought it was crap or did you buy a more expensive bag and it was still crap, or was the more expensive one actually more quality.

I don't think there's a correct answer for how much you "should" spend on a diaper bag. However, I do believe that you get what you pay for. I got my JuJuBe bag as a shower gift and it was $180. It held up great with DS and we'll be using it again for this LO.

If I were paying for one myself, I would be willing to spend between $100-$150.

Perfect, this was what I was looking for: If the whole "you get what you pay for" relates to diaper bags (sometimes it doesn't and it's a waste of money lol). I'd preferably have one that last for multiple kids and not have to buy one each new kid! lol

I have always wanted a Petunia Pickle Bottom (since 2004 when Oprah gave one to Julia Roberts for her b/g twins).  I met a lady once who was using her PPB boxy backpack with her fourth child and couldn't say enough good stuff about it.

They retail for $180 and I just found one for $150 and happily spent every dollar.

I think your style in purses can tell you quite a bit about what your diaper bag style will be.  I personally pay more for purses (Coach, Dooney, etc) and then carry them for a long time vs. paying less for purses that I don't carry as long.

If you haven't already and if there is one close to you I would look at Babies R'Us. They have this bag and I really like it except the zippy is kinda funky. I got stuck a number of times trying to unzip it because of some weird curve. Other than that I really liked it. GL!

I got one from serena and lilly and I love it. It was 125 on sale, and is really well made. I don't always subscribe to the 'you get what you pay for' rule, but in this case I think I got a good bag at a good price.

I received a Vera Bradley one as a gift, it has held up remarkably well.  I believe it costs around $100-$150.  Well worth the money.  A friend has a Skip Hop bag and that too has worn like iron.  So yes I belive you get what you pay for and need to look at your lifestyle to see what you need/want in a bag.
