WWYD?

So, one of my fears is that I would be recognized on here by someone I know IRL - part of the reason why I don't have a pic in my siggy. 

Let's say that you do recognize an acquaintance (not good friend) on here - would you say something to them? Or just leave them be? 

I would make a CP...but my Mac sucks. Sorry to disappoint.

Ive been around the boards since 2008, and I know of lots of instances of nesties being recognized by their DC's siggy pic, whether it be by another regular or a lurker.


Another reason I don't have a pic of my kiddo in my siggy. I'm enjoying my anonymity this time through the boards.

as soon as I joined this board, my BFF from high school recognized me.  She sent me a PM on FB.  I think it's fine - we're both TTC, neither of us are really telling anyone, so it was actually kind of nice to have someone to talk to IRL.  We actually talk a lot over FB, and don't interact here very often.

My SN is fairly recognizable, I've used it for a few online message boards, but I'm also pretty much an open book, so if someone finds out I'm TTC, I'm fine with it.

If you tell her that you recognize her then you won't be anonymous anymore. What benefit is it to tell her you recognize her? I wouldn't say anything. Just my opinion.

I don't say anything that would make me look bad...but I still would not say anything.  I enjoy being anonymous.  Also why I don't have an obvious picture up.  Also since I am a teacher, I don't really want parents too involved with my personal life.  Guess it depends on what your job is....your relationship with the person?

I guess I wasn't thinking about parents, sigh, sometimes I hate being a teacher when you are always on show everywhere you go. Sometimes I feel we can't be human. So now I changed by pics and no one will recognize me on here anymore but I guess anonymity is more important.

One of my in laws is on here and based on lack of post count I'm pretty certain that part of the reason for her account is to keep tabs on me. Far as I'm concerned it's fine but it would be less creepy if she just outted herself by sending me a message or text
