Group B Strep Positive

Sad I know from reading up that isn't supposed to be a big deal and they'll give me IV antibiotics at time of delivery but I'm a little bummed.

I wasn't positive for the last two pregnancies and the only reason I care is that there is risk to the baby. I'm having a scheduled c-section and that also reduces the changes of the baby being exposed.  Anyone else positive?

I was positive with DD, and haven't found out yet with this one.  I got the ABs and there were no complications. I wouldn't stress too much.

I'm positive too and I wasn't with DS#1.  Weird.  I'm not too worried- my OB said not to be :)

DD had thrush and we had a hard time getting rid of it.  Im assuming she got it because of the ABs during delivery.  I've never asked my Dr. though and I don't think it happens every time, but I would just be on the look out.

I haven't been tested yet this time, but I was positive last time with DD.  Everything went fine...I didn't even notice any effects from the antibiotics either.  I really don't think it is something to worry about.

If you're having a c-section as long as your water doesn't break before hand the risk to the baby is like... Zero. 

it only becomes an issue when they pass through the birth canal.

Don't sweat it.

You'll be fine. I was negative with DS1 but positive with DS2. Despite having a super short labor and only having one course of antibiotics DS was fine.

I was positive this time and not with my first. I had a repeat and no problems. It seems a lot of people are and as long as you go in if your water breaks , no worries.

I couldn't do my water birth with my first because of a positive group B strep but that was the only thing that I was restricted on. Still got to try natural birthing, and the c-section went just fine.
