2 bars on CD7?

This is my first cycle temping and using the CBE fertility monitor. My temping has been crazy this week bc DS has been sick and nobody is getting any sleep so my times are a little off, but I am not seeing a raise in temp. Anyway, I am on CD 7 and yesterday I had one bar and today I have 2 bars. How us that possible so early? AF just left a day or 2 ago? It seems really early to me, especially when I have a 32 day cycle, and last month it was 38 (got AF almost a week late). I am new to TTC to any feedback would be appreciated!

Some women always have LH in their system. Could just be a low level that's "normal" for you, or you could be gearing to O without O'ing. Just keep going with temps+opks+CM and see what happens.

OPKs don't work the way HPTs do. All the second line means is that there is LH in your system. What you are looking for is the surge in LH, which happens when the test line is as dark as, or darker than the control line. Then the OPK is positive and you may ovulate in the next12-48 hrs. The instructions should explain this.

Just keep testing and see where it goes. Also check out the OPK FAQs on peeonastick.com.

There aren't any lines though there are bars. It's the monitor not the OPK. The directions for the monitor said to test every day from cd 6.

I thought this post was going to be about going to 2 bars on cd7.

Oh wow. Huge reading comprehension fail on my part. Sorry! I have no idea about the CBEFM.

I just started using the Clear Blue Monitor, too. I believe the manual said you may see a length of "high fertility" days as the monitor gets use to you/your hormone levels. I'm sure by the second or third cycle the monitor will "know" you better. Be on the lookout for 3 bars "peak fertility" days! Good luck!

I'm on day 11 and just got my first "high fertility" bar this morning.

Keep on testing. If its your 1st cycle with the monitor it takes some time to get used to your cycle. It made me start testing from CD6 on my first cycle but I didnt get my peak til CD 15 and 16 , ovulation confirmed by temping on CD 17.

Are you testing within the test window?

I use the CBEFM and find that I get many high days before a peak reading. High (2 bars) means your estrogen is increasing which has to happen before the LH surge when you O. Send me a personal message if you have any other ?s about the lovely little CBEFM. GL!

Thanks wsommmj! I am just a little confused by everything from charting to using the monitor but I am sure I will get the hang of it. Last cycle being so long is throwing me off too bc it was so long and if it had been normal, I would ovulate In a few days bc this would be cd 14 for me (am I making any sense? Probably not) anyway thanks everybody!

I've been using the CBEFM for about 6 months now, and this has happened to me several times. Actually, this month I went straight into "high" reading on cd7. It doesn't necessarily mean you will ovulate in the next few days though. No matter how many days of "high" I get, I don't typically ovulate until around cd15.

Just keep testing until you get your "peak" reading.

The same thing happened to me this month as well.  I had 6 days of "high" readings then 2 days of "peak" then back to one day of high.  I started getting high readings on CD8.  It takes the monitor sometime to get used to your body.

Just so you know; the monitor goes into auto pilot once it picks up that first peak, you can save yourself those next 2 sticks. I just turn mine off for the rest of the month after I get the first peak.
