Preggo Pickle-loving Canadians in The US

Any idea where I can find a brand of pickles that taste like Bick's Dills?

I would be more than a little grateful to find some!

I am a Canadian living in the US and don't even get me started on the fact that there are no ketchup chips. I love them so much.

I have found a brand called Zappas or something and they have a cajun dill falvor that is good, but spicier than normal dill pickle chips. The bag is smaller and green and white stripes.

Then Pringles makes dill pickle flavor chips.

My sister and I went home to bury our grandmother a couple of weeks ago. I ate a full bag of dp chips as well as an entire jar of bicks dill pickles in one sitting.:)

As to chips, I was recently in Corpus Christi while my husband was at a conference. To my surprise (and unbridled joy) they had dill pickle chips in the vending machine and they were GOOD. Made by Snyders (the pretzel people.) I have not seen them since:(.

If you can find them you won't be disappointed!

thank you! I am in TX (Houston) so I believe that is quite the ways away from me, but I will try to find them elsewhere---FYI you can order dill pickle and ketchup chips on amazon.com, they just cost a lot.

Really? I live in NY and ive seen ketchup chips. If you mean potato chip like chips. I think they are heinz possibly put out by utz. Id have to look into it. Theyre not my cup of tea but ive definitely seen them.

Edit... They are put out by Herrs. And they are heinz. Maybe check Herrs website for a retailer in your area.

I'm in Tennessee. I developed a ketchup chip addiction in Canada when I visited years ago but had never found them in the US until a few months ago. Lay's was trying them out in different markets here, so I bought two big bags. Sometimes specialty food stores also sell all natural kettle chip versions, but they're not quite the same.

As far as pickle chips go, I've seen a bunch of those around (some Lay's, some Kettle Chip brand), so keep an eye out! They're the BEST!

We had Heinz ketchup chips one summer back in the 1990's in Jersey. I haven't seen them in forever. They were delish.

Oh I miss them!

I haven't lived in Canada since I was 13. We moved all over Europe and also to Brazil and ended up in the US but travelled home to family frequently and stockpiled groceries from home. We''ll be having our third baby here in Texas in May and I continue to maintain all the cravings of a born and bred Canadian girl.:)

This maddening desire for dill pickles has been......to the point of needing a weekly trip back for pickles alone! :)

make some refrigerator pickles.  They are so easy and inexpensive to make.  You can search for recipes on pinterest or google.

Here are a bunch of recipes.  One says it's better than Bick's.

No, I am a permanent resident and H and I both live and work here so I would not go back to Canada to have the baby...though I'd love the year of maternity leave, lol!

I hope you love them :)  I have made some spicy garlic dill pickles and they are the best pickles I have ever had.  My 4 year old DS asks me to make them all the time.

I'm also a canuck and oh man do I miss most of the snack foods. The US selection seriously sucks. I just moved to a new state a couple years ago and dill pickle chips (my second fav) are sold here, they were not in Illinois where I first lived. Ketchup chips I have not found outside of Canada. They are practically my favourite thing in the world after my DH. I bring lots of bags back with me when I go back to visit my family and require them to bring me bags if they come visit. Why lays doesn't sell them  in the US I dont understand.

I think a petition to lays is in order. I also miss bits n bites, eat mores, Lowny choc cherries, joe Louis half moons, flakies, hickory sticks, macaroons, oh my gosh CRISPY CRUNCH choc bars, smarties, aero bars..... Man I'm hungry- can you tell I was 13 when I moved- real healthy list :).....

Yes! A year maternity leave and 6 months choice for husband..... Sounds pretty good.

I can't wait to make these pickles.:)

Ps. And Nanaimo bars and butter tarts......

Mommy, I don't know where you live, but do you have any higher end grocery stores near you? Many of ours now have a British/Canadian candy section where they sell Flakies, Smarties, Aero bars, etc. - if it's something you really miss, it's worth looking around to be sure it's not nearby! You may also be able to order some online...not as convenient as getting them in the gas station, I know.

Totally lurking, OP, have you tried Vlasic pickles, I thought they were American? They're pretty good.
