We never bought any of the baby food processors. We just used our regular food processor which worked just fine. For us, it wouldn't have been worth buying a baby bullet because DD only ate purees for a very short time anyway.
There really isn't much to making your own baby food though. We pretty much just took any fruit or veggie, added some water to it, and pureed it until it was smooth. If the taste was too strong, we watered it down some more. Sometimes we mixed veggies together too (or fruit, or both!). DD liked purees for about 2 weeks before she moved on though. We'd started her with cereal at 4 months, and she wanted something more textured.
