We just used our regular detergent - anything that was "free and clear" - we didn't buy Dreft or anything that was specifically "baby"

We use whatever free and clear detergent is on sale and we use it for the whole family. No point in buying specific baby detergent and only using it for them when they spend a lot of time snuggled against your clothes.

We use the All free & clear on all our laundry. The one with oxyclean in it works wonders on stains.

Anything free and clear - usually All or the Up&Up brand is the cheapest. We all use the same thing. Dreft is so perfumey, I don't know how it ever got labeled as a "baby" detergent.

i am not switching detergent for baby. if baby ends up with a reaction, I'll switch, but I just don't believe in getting a new one for baby.

I will be using Dreft or something similar.  I got a bottle of Mrs. Meyers baby detergent and it smells really good so I may end up using that.  It just depends on what works better.

Totally this.

F&C is the way to go if you want to be careful about baby's skin.  Anything labeled 'baby' is just a waste of money, but I guess people like the way it smells.

This is me.  I am a total "smell" person.

While we tried the F+C detergents, I feel like they didn't do a great job with stains. I really liked Dreft - and the way it smelled.

Anything free and clear. Dreft is a gimmick and full of chemicals.

If you think something smells good, it's probably too much for baby's sensitive nose.

If I wash my clothes in anything other than Free and Clear, I break out into major hives. I am just going to assume the baby will inherit this sensitivity from me! Dreft has WAY too much scent for my comfort level.

Most Mrs. Meyer's products smell soooo good. They make my nose happy :)

This.

For stains we use bac out and/or sunshine. We have no issues or stains not even on our cloth diapers.

we use all free & clear and no dryer sheets on the baby stuff. for stains, we have an oxyclean spray that works great. I agree with the smelly Dreft. It seems like it's not very "natural" for baby. My mom told me to use Ivory snow, but it's expensive and I'd rather just use the same thing for our whole family. Plus, I can get the All F&C at Costco for a decent price in a huge bottle.

This.  I worry about getting "baby stains" out so I'm hoping she wont' have any adverse reactions to OxiClean Max Force pacs which work wonders.

Regular Tide. I did the free and clear for awhile with DS. This time around, I'm not changing it up unless I need to.

We already use Arm & Hammer Free and Clear because I have bad reactions to other detergents. We will use that for our daughter unless she has a reaction to it.

I can't handle any perfumed detergents.  I actually get sick when I stay at my MIL or SILs house if I have to lay on their pillowcases.  The scent of that stuff makes me gag - I think they use Tide.  SIL uses Dreft on her baby clothes and it also makes me nauseous.  Any time someone gives me baby clothes or gives mine back to me after I let them borrow them and they have used a perfumed detergent, I feel like I have to wash the stuff 2-3 times just to get the stink off.

We use the Meijer brand ecowise free and clear on our clothes and diapers or if I'm energetic I often make my own detergents with castille soap and borax.

We already use All F&C and will just continue to do so when he gets here.  I received a bottle of Dreft as a gift, but I hate the smell, so I'll probably offer it to my SIL who is due about 2 months after me.
