Hudson

We want a not-so-common English name since DH is an Englishman. What do you ladies think? We are having such a hard time agreeing on ANYTHING and this seems to be the only name that we both are meeting half way. "Huddy" for a NN? It sounds cute when DH says it with his accent lol thoughts? TIA!

Hudson is adorable. Huddy is nms and would be grown out of very very quickly I would think because it sounds very childish.

I really like Hudson and it's on my name list. But...SD is Boston so Hudson is out. I could not do two place names. They're also too matchy. :(

I didn't realize Hudson was a popular name in the UK?  It just makes me think of NYC.  Huddy is pretty silly.

Honestly, the naming trends over there are very similar to here.  You could do something like Phillip with the nickname Pip which feels very British.  But for the most part, our naming trends are super similar to theirs.

its not popular over there to my knowledge. we want not-so-common english name but alot of them seem to be over used and we arent feelin' traditional names AT ALL. Thanks for the thoughts ladies! wish me luck! ugh!

I had never heard of this as a first name until DS had a classmate in daycare with this name. I've learned to really like it, mainly because that Hudson is so cute and has given the name a good association. My son calls him "Hudsy" FWIW but they're 2 haha. I now know of another Hudson, and the name is growing on me.

Not a fan of place names. This one reminds me of the river. Or it sounds like a surname. I really dislike the NN too.
