Short luteal phase

I tried searching but I'm mobile. Excuse this if it was recently discussed.

My luteal phase is only 6 days max. Anyone else? What are you doing to lengthen if anything? Has anyone ever gotten pg with such a short luteal phase?

I'm taking b6. No luck with that.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything to help other than B6, but have you talked to your doctor about short LP?

Yea. He wants me to wait until o hot the 12 month mark to see if it regulates. It hasn't in 8 months so I might go to another doctor. 12 moths with a normal cycle makes sense to me but how can I get pregnant if the blastocyst can't implant?

I'm just hoping for other non doctor ideas. In going to give it at least another month before I look for another ob.

How is it 6 days max when last cycle was 7 and you are 7 dpo now?

That said, if this one doesn't hold off for a long LP, then I would definitely get a second opinion.

Actually I was spotting heavily on Cd7. It probably should have been cd 1 but I was in denial.

However 7 or 6 are no matter. They are both considered a short lp. 10 is normal. So I'm not really sure your point.

I would seek another opinion for sure! Fertility friend I believe would back you up on that, for if seen tips about what to do and seeking doctor was it.

I'm just about done reading "The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant" (which I highly recommend) and she does mention a few things in there to try to help lengthen your luteal phase. She does, however, say to use supplements and vitamins with caution has they do not work the same for everyone and may 'correct' a problem that wasn't the real problem.  Some of the things she mentions include: a supplement called vitex which can also be found in a product called Fertility Blend, cutting back on exercise, and getting a script for progesterone from your doctor.

I will get a second opinion thanks everyone. Part of me just wants it to fix itself or to regulate without medical help.

I would definitely get a second opinion. I think when you have a known issue there is no reason to wait 12 months. For example, I've had two miscarriages in the span of 5 months. I saw an RE after the second. There is no reason for me to keep trying for another 7 months and hope I don't miscarry again. They can test your hormones and possibly see what is going on.

I have a short LP too so did some research on it. TB has some folks who were successful at 8/9 days (some without any treatment) but nothing shorter.

This last month I peaked (CBFM) on CD 22. I've never prayed for my normal 28 day period to be late like I did this month. (I knew I wasn't pregnant as we took the month off.) DH was so confused as to why I was excited every day AF didn't come but wasn't rushing to take a test. (AF finally came on day 32, so FX it will stay in the 9/10 day range for us instead of dropping back down.)
