rough night!

So last night I was soo tired but having pretty bad cramps. I finally fell asleep around 12 and woke up bc my cramps were so bad. This went on for about three hours. I had to nap in between them. [they were far apart i think, i didn't time them]

last night around 8 they were coming ever 10 minutes, then stopped.

Are those contractions? or just cramps? I know people say sometimes they feel like bad menstrual cramps, but others say no, it's when your belly gets hard. So I'm just a tad confused.

Thanks. :)

It sounds like those might be mild contractions.  It can happen on and off for days before labor.  Braxton hicks are when your belly gets hard but aren't painful.  So your body could be starting to gear up.  Labor will start when they are longer, stronger, and closer together.

They say cramps are contractions. But the real ones you often have trouble breathing through. Your body is getting ready for labor but it doesn't mean it's necessarily right around the corner. I've been having cramps and contractions for weeks and am still waiting on my little man. I would time them next time and let your doctor know if they are timable.

I've had cramping on a off for the past three weeks now. I did tell my doctor and he said good, at that time  [36&37 weeks ]he said they weren't strong enough to do anything. I didn't dilate until I was 39 weeks. 1cm. :) A start.

They were pretty bad last night though.

Tuesday I'm scheduled for a NST since I'll be past my due date & have a dr. appt right after, so I will mention this.

Also yesterday I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug. It was throughout the day, but then I lost a HUGE [tmi gross lol] chunk of it at one point. It didn't have blood or anything in it though. At one point I even had spotting & called the on call dr. and she said that bc I had an exam thursday I could be spotting from that since you have a 48 hr window to spot & I was still in it.  It stopped thankfully.   [My spotting was at night time around 7ish. I was thinking maybe since my plug didn't have any blood that it just came onto the toilet paper? It was bright red blood too.]

Sounds like contractions to me. The whole time I was pregnant I thought I never had one contraction. Id have some mild cramping every now and then but it never even crossed my mindit was a contraction. After I got induced and started having strong ccontractions I realized id been hving them the whole time when I thought it was just cramping.

I've been having these cramps for a week. After my ob appt they were AWFUL!! I had consistent cramps and spotting for 2 days afterwards.
I called the office and she said it was from the internal and the early stages of labor.
Just try to relax!

My BH / contractions have been totally painless, just feels like tightening -- both the sensation of tightening and also literally, when I touch my belly, it is hard as a rock.  Lasts about 30 seconds.

I had this happen a few weekends ago - I was contracting ever 5 minutes.  I went to L & D and they determined that I wasn't going into PTL, but had a mild UTI that was causing the contractions.

I was wondering the same thing on Friday. I lost my mucus plug earlier this week and was having back pain and mild cramping on and off all week. Friday was much more intense. I had back pain, cramping and BH. I waited a few hours to see if it would continue. Went home, took a long bath and laid down. They stopped and haven't really had any since. I was very confused but I figured if they became more painful I would head to l&d. Glad I waited since it wasn't true labor.

Yeah, a few of my cramps were bad that it went into my back. I have a dr. appt on tuesday so I hope that I've dilated a little more.
