New Here/Intro

Hello everyone my name is Lorenn I'm 23 years old and have been struggling to get my take home baby since January 2010. Since then i have suffered 10 miscarriages. I have never made it past 9 weeks. My second pregnancy i made it to 7 1/2 weeks and got to see the heartbeat that time, that was the only baby that i ever seen a heartbeat with. This last miscarriage I made it to 9 weeks but never seen a heartbeat. It was my first IUI cycle. The sac would grow each time i would go to get an ultrasound but we couldnt see a baby or heartbeat. It was by far the worst loss. I thought everything was going great because my betas were as high as they have ever been but nothing was showing up on the ultrasounds, it felt like a long drawn out nightmare that was never gonna end.  I have a d&c that loss and it was my first one, all the others i passed on my own at home. I went with a d&c because my RE was going to test the baby if there was enough tissue. There was enough and the results came back as triploidy, which means the baby had 3 sets of chromosomes. So with all that being said we are doing our very first IVF cycle starting this month. We are doing thr Preimplantation Genetic Screening & ICIS. I shoud be going into my REs office this coming week with my DH to sign consent forms and start my Lupron injections. I have been on birth control since November.

Sorry i hit post too soon and wantedto add that I am extremely nervous and excited. Also if any of you have ever done IVF with the testng please give me a little of what to expect. Im not too good with the needles but i know i can do it since i did with my iui cycle.

Hi there,

I'm sorry you had to go through so much and that you have to be here now. This board is great though and everybody is super supportive so I hope this will help you on your journey. I've done IVF with ICSI but didn't have PID so I can't help you there. The one IVF cycle I did went really well, no major complaints and no major bruising on my tummy. I hope yours will also go well and that you only have to do it once. I'm keeping my FX for us all.

i'm sorry you've had to struggle with so much loss.  This will be my first IVF also so I don't have much advice but just wanted to welcome you.  Sounds like your RE has a great plan and hope you get your take home baby very soon!
Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Beta #1 at 11dp3dt is 190, Beta #2 at 13dp3dt is 363. U/S scheduled for June 13. In shock and so very hopeful. U/S showed 2 heartbeats in same placenta measuring 113 and 115 bpm. I'm so sorry for all your losses, but welcome. I can't imagine what you've been though. I hope IVF is successful for you.  I am planning my first IVF cycle also so I don't have a lot of advice to offer. But, the women on this board and very supportive and extremely knowledgable and I know some have done PGS or ICIS or are planning to, so I'm sure you'll get some good info.

You may also want to check out the Trying to Concieve after a Loss board -  they all understand what it's like to have dealt with one or more losses. There are a few of us who hang out on both boards!

I'm so sorry for all of your losses, but welcome to the board. This board is really supportive and knowledgeable, so I you'll be able to find great support here. I also recommend you join the TTC after a Loss board to chat with women who have also experienced losses. Many have here as well, but that is a board specifically for loss, so that's a great support system there.

Welcome to the board and I am sorry for your losses. We are also doing IVF with PGD. My husband has a balanced chromosomal translocation, so PGD is the best bet for us.

I'm so sorry for all of your losses. This board is a great source of support and information. I'm glad you found it. I did PGS, but we didn't do it right after our IVF, which I recommend doing so you do freeze, and then have to thaw, biopsy, and re-freeze. We didn't think we would have any issues and decided to do a fresh transfer right after the cycle, and froze our remaining embies. We did a FET, and that lead to a loss, and that's when we opted to do the PGS. Hang in there. Welcome and GL!

So so sorry for your losses. I've done IVF 3 times and no major issues on any of them. It's a longer process than IUI's which means emotions go up and down quite a bit. But at this point, really no different than anything else.
Also, my cousin kept having miscarriages and it turned out that it was due to her blood clotting or something like that. She had to give herself a shot every day throughout her entire pregnancy to sustain the baby.
Good luck with everything. I think the genetic testing is a good idea.

I really hope that you will identify some wonderful embryos through genetic screening and you get your take home baby.

3/27/13 - No heartbeat at 9w0d. D&C the following day.

4/23/13 - Matched to adopt five new embryos!

Me:33 TTC since 2008 Feb08: ruptured Ectopic(surgically removed right tube and ovary) Oct12: Began seeing a Fertility Doctor Dx:Anovulation, Provera to force period, clomid 50mg, Day 12 ultrasound showed no follicles/no ovulation. Dec12: Day 3 Antral Follicle Count; ONE, FSH also jumped from 8.4 to 24, increased clomid dosage to 150mg

Welcome to the boards! I am very sorry to hear about your hearbreaking losses. It sounds like you are now working with an RE who can hopefully lead you down the path to your THB! I am starting (today) my second cycle of IVF. We are chosing to do PGS again, even though the price is huge ($3250.) I wish you tons of luck. The injections do get easier, and as you get more uncomfortable, just keep reminding yourself what it's all for. Don't hesitate to ask any specific questions you may have. Good luck to you! :)

First RE visit: 8/8/12, Saline Sonogram: 8/28/12(4cm unknown mass in upper left of uterus) 2nd Saline Sonogram: 10/2/12 (mass disappeared!) IVF injection class: 10/11/12
IVF #1: 10/17/12 Baseline: FSH- 9.4, E2- 24, LH- 3.7, Progesterone- 0.3. 6 follicles in my right ovary & 9 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in AM. 10/21/12: Add Ganirelix SQ in PM. 10/26/12: hCG Trigger IM. ER 10/28/12: 13R, 7M, 6F. 5 Made it to PGS. ET 11/2/12: CANCELED. PGS: All 5 have "severe abnormalities." Devastated. Begged RE for back-to-back IVFs; Started Provera 11/2/12. AF said FU and came anyway, destroying any chance for a Dec IVF. IVF #2: 1/7/13 Baseline: FSH- 8.8, 4 follicles in my right ovary & 6 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in PM. 1/11/13: Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. 1/16/13: hCG Trigger IM. ER 1/18/13: 9R, 5M, 5F. 2 Made it to PGS. ET 1/23/13: CANCELED. PGS: All embryos have "multiple severe abnormalities." RE recommends we stop trying and focus on living childless, due to the repeated extremely poor quality of my eggs. I don't even know what to do with that.
IVF #3- NEW RE! 100% OOP: 3/1/13 Baseline: FSH- 9.6, E2- 61, Progesterone- 0.94, 3 follicles in my right ovary & 4 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in PM. 3/7/13: Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. hCG Trigger 3/9/13 SQ. 3/11/13 ER: 6R, 2M, 2F. Day 3: one 8 cell, grade 0. 3/16/13 Five day ET: one early blast, grade Fair. 3/24/13 Started period a day before beta. BFN.
IVF #4 (FINAL) (Added acupuncture to this cycle.): 3/25/13 WTF & Baseline: FSH-11.8, E2- 56, Progesterone- 0.84 3/26/13 Start stims. 3/30/13 u/s: 5 follicles in my right ovary & 4 in my left. Rx: 225 Bravelle & 225 Menopur SQ in PM. 3/31/13 Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. hCG Trigger 4/3/13 SQ. 4/5/13 ER: 5R, 3M, 3F naturally. Day 3: two 8 cell, grade 0, one 8 cell, grade 2 (Scale 0-best to 3-worst). 4/10/13 Five day ET: two blastocysts (the 3rd stopped growing.) 4/18/13 Beta: 2.5 BFFN.
No DE or adoption for us, FIRM.
That’s it for us. I am beyond devastated and have no idea how to proceed from here. My life has been forever altered by this experience. Best wishes to all in their journeys!

Yeah our PGS is costing 2,300.00 for 8 embryos and the courier fee. If we have more than 8 to test its 250 for each additional one. Hopefully it will be well worth the price for both of us!! GL to you and everyone else!!
