Hello everyone

I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 30 years old. We've been TTC for 9 months, and have begun infertility testing. My husband's SA came back last week as low sperm count (half a million) and no mobility.  He will take the test again and see a urologist. I'm about to have my own tests done within the next week or so.

 I'm a roller coaster of emotions right now, from immense sadness and anxiety to trying to stay positive. 

 Looking for any kind words, support or a hello. Anyone else out there who has dealt with MI is welcome to share their story and experiences with me. I feel really alone right now. Thank you in advance!

IF is definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I've been going through it since 2009 and never envisioned myself where I am now.  I'm just hoping this is life's plan for me and I'll eventually get to share it with some babies!  
Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Hoping and praying. First u/s perfect little heart beat at 116 bpm. Measure 6 weeks 1 day. EDD 10/14/13 3/4/13 measuring right on track beautiful heartbeat 171 bpm, graduated from RE to OB... bittersweet. Hi, welcome! I'm 32 and we are dealing with MFI. Our intial Dx was low testosterone, count, morph and motility. DH's healthy sperm was way too low to consider IUI. So we had our first IVF/ICSI cycle in December and his count and motility improved to normal. =) It's difficult to receive an IF Dx. You'd think there is an easy quick fix, but most of the time it isn't that simple. Good luck, it sounds like you're on the right track.

Check out the MFI check-in. It was posted by Firesiren late Saturday. There are a lot of ladies on this board dealing with MFI.

Welcome! We are also dealing with MFI. I second what Gr8te said you should definetly check out the MFI check in we do. As for our story I'm 24 DH is 26 he has low count and motility. We did not see a urologist because our RE did a more indepth SA and found he had antisperm antibodies. She said we could try and IUI and see how it goes, but suggested moving right into IVF.
We did one IUI and it was unsuccessful and now we are on IVF 2 and we are doing ICSI. PM me if you have any questions. Good Luck!

Trying for a baby since 4/10
DX: Infertile 6/11 Me: LPD, all other blood work clear. May/ 2013 Egg maturity and quality issues.. DH: low sperm motility,low count.
Met with RE start clomid + TI + IUI 5/12= IUI cancelled due to positive Cystic Fibrosis carrier test. DH tested Neg. for Cystic Fibrosis,
6/12 Clomid + TI +IUI=BFN 8/10 IVF consult.
IVF #1 Started BCP 9/2 Lupron 10/11 stims 10/27 ER 11/6!! 5 eggs retreived only 1 mature. FERT report shows none made it.Cancelled cycle.
IVF #2 BCP 11/18 Lupron 12/14
Stims start 12/29 ER 1/8 ET 1/11 put in 1 grade B and 1 grade C. Beta: 1/20=BFN
Second opinion at new clinic TBD
decided to stick with old clinic with new plan.
5/3 started metformin for IVF # 3 set to start in July!!!

Welcome! Sorry you have to be here. Initially we were thought to be mfi by my obgyn who sent us to an re. We saw a uro who said no mfi but still suggested coq10 supplements a mens fert vitamin. Good luck!

3/27 Began working with Reproductive Immunologist Dr. Kwak-Kim. Found High NK cells, High DHEAs, slight hypothyroidism, tendency toward blood clots (High PAI-1)Began synthroid & metformin 4/19.

Welcome to the board! I'm sorry that you have to be here.

We're MFI too. DH was diagnosed with Azoospermia almost exactly a year ago. I remember going through a lot of the emotions and chaos that you're describing. It feels so scary and alone, especially at first. It does get easier though, and there are a lot of options out there. This board and the MFI check-in have been amazingly helpful for me as we go through it. It's nice to have other people who get it.

I saw that you're on the Boston board; we're from south of the city. Do you have a urologist yet?  DH saw a guy at Boston Medical who was really great if you need a recommendation.  Or if you ever just need to talk you can PM me.

Hello and welcome.  I'm very new here too... I just started seeing an RE back in November and so far the news has not been good.  So I understand the range of emotions, I'm going thru those too... it's a hard diagnosis.  The stories being told on this board are amazing.  Sorry you have to be here, but the very best of luck to you and I hope you find all the hope and support you need. :)
Me:33 TTC since 2008 Feb08: ruptured Ectopic(surgically removed right tube and ovary) Oct12: Began seeing a Fertility Doctor Dx:Anovulation, Provera to force period, clomid 50mg, Day 12 ultrasound showed no follicles/no ovulation. Dec12: Day 3 Antral Follicle Count; ONE, FSH also jumped from 8.4 to 24, increased clomid dosage to 150mg

Welcome! We are dealing with severe MFI and it is a hard DX..so sorry you are going through all of this. It really sucks. I hope you get some answers soon so you can form a plan moving forward! And I def agree that you should join the MFI check in on Sundays. Lots of useful info and support there as well. GL to you!

DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN
moving on to DS
DIUI#1 2/18/13,50mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta 3/4/13: BFN.
DIUI#2 3/19/13, 50 mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta #1 (14dpiui) 4/2/13: BFP!!!! 150. Beta #2 4/4/13: 420 Beta #3 4/8/13: 2691. Beta #4 4/15/13: 15,086
1st u/s 4/8/13 shows one gestational sac

Natural PG 9/27/11; MC at 8wks. Used Cytotec to expel: 1/20/12 (unpleasant)
First RE visit: 8/8/12, Saline Sonogram: 8/28/12(4cm unknown mass in upper left of uterus) 2nd Saline Sonogram: 10/2/12 (mass disappeared!) IVF injection class: 10/11/12
IVF #1: 10/17/12 Baseline: FSH- 9.4, E2- 24, LH- 3.7, Progesterone- 0.3. 6 follicles in my right ovary & 9 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in AM. 10/21/12: Add Ganirelix SQ in PM. 10/26/12: hCG Trigger IM. ER 10/28/12: 13R, 7M, 6F. 5 Made it to PGS. ET 11/2/12: CANCELED. PGS: All 5 have "severe abnormalities." Devastated. Begged RE for back-to-back IVFs; Started Provera 11/2/12. AF said FU and came anyway, destroying any chance for a Dec IVF. Maxed out lifetime IF meds insurance. I can barely breathe, waiting to get through this process, hoping for my take-home-baby.
IVF #2: 1/7/13 Baseline: FSH- 8.8, 4 follicles in my right ovary & 6 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in PM. 1/11/13: Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. 1/16/13: hCG Trigger IM. ER 1/18/13: 9R, 5M, 5F. 2 Made it to PGS. ET 1/23/13: CANCELED. PGS: All embryos have "multiple severe abnormalities." RE recommends we stop trying and focus on living childless, due to the repeated extremely poor quality of my eggs. I don't even know what to do with that.
