Lower Back Pain

I just had a quick question for y'all...

After reading through the list of OKAY OTC meds I can take (that my OB gave me), I didn't see anything for pain. It said I could take tylenol (acetaminophen) for fevers but I was wondering if I could take it for the lower back pain I'm having?

I'm 15 weeks & I'll normally tough out headaches and this back pain but today it's horrible. I woke up and can hardly move without it hurting. The only relief I got was when I was driving to work (my car is new and the seats are nice and firm, haha).

I've got a call into my doctor, just waiting for them to get back to me.

Thanks. :)

You can take tylenol for your back however nothing works as good as ibuprofen or the muscle relaxer type meds that we arent allowed to take.

My doc told be to take tylenol and use a warm, not hot, compress.

What kind of pain & where are you experiencing it? I just started having awful back pain on Saturday night. It's a hand-width above my buttocks & almost feels like I pulled large muscles on both sides of my back. Does that sound like what you're having?

Right there with you sister. Horrible headaches and lower back pain. I've tried lower back yoga...but nothing helps. Get your significant other or anyone whom you have, to use their thumb and rub at the center of the base of each buttcheek. This may sound ridiculous but my husband does it for me and it releases some of that pressure. Also, good for a head ache is go to a good salon and get a "shampoo"...I did that and got the head massage of a lifetime that helped with my migraine! :

As PP said there is not much in the way of medicine as a pain relief during pregnancy but a warm compress will help.

Most importantly start stretching before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning before you even get out of bed! I have really bad back pain/problems that have gotten much worse during pregnancy and stretching has become a life saver.

I was just about post about back pain...it's so annoying and wish there was relief! I don't remember this with my first pregnancy as much. Trying to sleep is hard and at 19 wks, it will be a long road if it doesn't get better. Anyone found tricks to help at night with sleeping??

My back pain has also been terrible for about a week now.  My hubby has been rubbing my back and that seems to help some.  Tylenol is okay to take, but it only helps a little.  Good luck!

You know that feeling when you sleep on your neck wrong and it's stiff the rest of the day? And anytime you move it, it hurts?

That's what it feels like on my lower back, right above my hiney. Right now it seems to be mostly on the left side...I work in an office & luckily get to sit for most of the day, but I just walked out to my car and back into my office and HOLY FISHPASTE.

My SIL suggested those Thermacare heating pads that stick to your back...has anyone tried those? I've never used them before & was just curious if they helped.

But FI has been acting really sweet lately, maybe I should take him up on some of his offers. :P

Thanks for all the help!
