Vision changes

I'm only about 5 weeks pregnant. I noticed that my right eye became a little blurry yesterday. It's my good eye, so I will be sad if it catches up with the weakness of my left. : Is it common for vision to change during pregnancy?

Yes. Normally it goes back to normal after you give birth though. My eye doctor suggested I switch to my glasses, since that's usually less stressful on the eyes.

Yep.

This happened with my first pregnancy and this one.  Which really stinks because I need new glasses, but I know it will be a waste of money.

Yep, hormones can do crazy things. It may or may not be permanent. Dryness can also cause blurriness. My eyes changed right after having DS as in, over the course of a couple days. It flipped me out but isn't uncommon according to my doctor. BF hormones can do the same thing so I wouldn't order new glasses or anything for a bit.

I haven't experienced it but I remember seeing a ton of posts on it when I was pregnant with DD. You're not alone.

I have had a lot of dry eye symptoms, which sort of affects my vision too.  I wake up in the middle of the night (to go to the bathroom) and often need to put in some eye drops too.

Thank you for your replies!!
I had heard it was possible, but I like to hear from those who actually know firsthand. Since my news isn't out there yet, I will start wearing my glasses a little at a time so people aren't suspicious!

My eyes have gotten pretty dry.  I'm going to the optometrist to see if switching to daily contacts might help.

Yes, I had some vision changes with my first pregnancy.  After DD was born, my eyes became really irritated and dry.  They would be blurry by the end of the day (wearing contacts).  I had to mostly wear my glasses and visit the eye doctor several times while on maternity leave.  Vision is better now, but I still try to wear my glasses 3x a week.
