Weight Gain...Not enough?

I know that I shouldn't worry, due to the fact that my doctor isn't too worried yet, but I don't think I'm gaining enough weight.  I am getting closer to 19 weeks and have only gained about 5 or 6 lbs throughout the entire pregnancy.  My SO keeps saying that I'm only putting on baby.  I have an appointment next week and we'll see more about it then.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Should I be worried? You shouldn't  worried unless the doctor is. As long as everything is going well with the pregnancy it's fine. Some people gain. Some don't. I didn't gain anything until around 24 weeks with my last.  WIth my first I had put on 10 at that point.

don't worry.

I gained 5 lbs total between 12 -22 weeks (zero before that). Now at 26 weeks I am up a total of 9 lbs

No you shouldn't be worried. As long as your baby is on track and you are eating the right amount of food then you are fine. I've LOST 15 pounds and it's fine. I have enough to spare and my baby is healthy and active in there.
With my daughter I consistently lost until almost the end of my 2nd trimester. Then I put on what I lost and weighed exactly what I did pre pregnancy when I delivered. My daughter was a very healthy little girl. Still is.

I am at 17 weeks and have only gained 2 pounds. I am eating and I have no health issues and my tummy is growing so Io just like to think that the baby is using those few extra pounds I had before I got pregnant. My Dr. actually congratulated me on my last visit right after Christmas saying I had done the best so far for holiday weight! I laughed at her! No worries!

Unless you were really underweight to start, you're worrying for nothing.  There is major potential to pack on pounds in the last few months so you're off to a great start.

I'm 21 weeks and only up 5 lbs. My Dr. is not the least bit concerned. As long as your Dr. isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either :)

No, you shouldn't be worried. Your doctor will reassure you.

I am slim and my doc wanted me to gain 25 to 35 pounds last pregnancy. At 24 weeks, I had only gained 6lbs. She wasn't concerned at all. I was up 12lbs by 30 weeks...then gained another 18 in the last 10 weeks, for a grand total of 30. I had a 9lb baby.

I wouldn't worry.  I'm 22 weeks and I've only gained 6 pounds.  Granted, I wasn't a twig when I started, but at each appointment my doctor makes my weigh gain seem like a major achievement.  If they're not worried, you shouldn't be either.

At 19 weeks I'd only gained 4 pounds, my doctor was not concerned.

I JUST got back from my doctor, It wasn't my normal doctor, and I don't especially like him.

I haven't gained any weight since I was about 17 weeks.   I was gaining pretty text book at first, even with the morning sickness.  I eat plenty, I don't eat junk food. Have been throwing up still but I keep my food down for at least a little while (sometimes I go a while day without throwing up!).

My doctor wasn't concerned at first but since its been over a month now and I haven't gained anything he is starting to bother me about eating more.  I feel like I eat plenty though when I can keep it down.

:(

You shouldn't be worried! My doctor said that the majority of weight gain is int he 3rd trimester. He explained to me that the first trimester most do not gain weight (I gained 2). Second trimester is 1/3 of the weight gain & third trimester is 2/3rds of weight gain. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow & have only gained 6. I weight myself often & see fluctuations (by a pound or two). So, where you are at is normal for some!

Unless you have a special circumstance (like being very underweight to begin), it sounds like you are right on track.  My OB keeps saying 5-10 lbs at 20 weeks is ideal.

I lost 20 lbs right away and now at 27 weeks I'm about 3-4lbs above my prepreg weight. If they aren't concerned you shouldn't be.

I'm 27 weeks today and at my last appointment I was still down 4 lbs from my start weight (even after Christmas feasting) I didn't have any m/s or anything like that I just lost a bunch at the beginning (like i have with all 3 pgs) and slowly I am gaining it back. Dr and OB are not worried so neither am I. Makes getting back into pre-pg clothes easier!

Don't worry unless you were under weight to start or had a different health issue prior to pregnancy that would make it a problem (not that I can really think of any but I am sure that there are some!).

I am around 17 weeks and about at my starting weight. I had lost 3-5 in the beginning.  FWIW I started at a "normal" weight and my OB isn't worried at all.

I'm 21 weeks with twins (who are measuring ahead) and have only gained 7lbs.  My doctor isn't worried as long as the babies are growing and healthy.  Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different.  Some women don't gain the recommended amount of weight, but still have healthy babies.

Definitely don't worry if your doctor hasn't said anything.

I started a pre-baby diet on my OB's advice about six months before we officially started trying (I have health problems, so we wanted to take our time).  I gained more then than I did since the pregnancy started!  Seriously, I went from a healthy 150 for my body shape to 200 lbs, but I didn't really look heavier.  It was all in adding more protein and storing more healthy fat, I guess.

Since I got pregnant, I gained NO weight until my 21 week appointment.  That scale was stuck at 200 half my pregnancy and I asked every time if that was okay.  (I wasn't exactly complaining, I already sort of felt like I gained 50lbs.)  The doctor said my body was just going to use what it had at the start of the pregnancy and as long as I was still eating healthy foods and staying moderately active, I would be fine.

At my last appointment, I weighed in at a whopping 206.  I thought, "Oh good! I gained a little!"  The doctor said she had hoped I would LOSE weight!  So, now I'm back to being more careful with my diet.

Talk it out with your doctor, because everyone is different and what is "good" for some people may not work for you.
