Talk to me about silent reflux

1) What are your LO's symptoms that led you to think he/she has silent reflux (daytime symptoms/nighttime symptoms)?

2) How old was LO at time of diagnosis?

3)What is the treatment, and did it help?

4) If it helped,  how long did it take for the medicine/treatment to work?

1) What are your LO's symptoms that led you to think he/she has silent reflux (daytime symptoms/nighttime symptoms)?  Would cry with burping/hiccups and when sleeping flat on his back. Lots of gulping randomly.

2) How old was LO at time of diagnosis? 3 weeks

3)What is the treatment, and did it help?  Prevacid 2x a day, works well plus inclining his bassinet and holding him up for 20 mins after each feed + lots of tummy time

4) If it helped,  how long did it take for the medicine/treatment to work? Results almost immediately, slept better within 2 nights

1) What are your LO's symptoms that led you to think he/she has silent reflux (daytime symptoms/nighttime symptoms)?   Crying when feeding, watery burps, woke up from naps within 5-10 min of laying on back, increased crankiness, wouldnt nap, shrieking/crying fits

2) How old was LO at time of diagnosis? 8 weeks

3)What is the treatment, and did it help? 4) If it helped,  how long did it take for the medicine/treatment to work?

Zantac, 2X day. He's only been using it for 4 days, the dr. said give it a full week to notice, but he's definitely happier. We now feed him as upright as possible, keep upright after feedings 20-30 minutes, sleep on incline to help.

1) What are your LO's symptoms that led you to think he/she has silent reflux (daytime symptoms/nighttime symptoms)?   We figured it out because DS started thrashing around at night in his bassinet.   Also has wet hiccups and burps,  hoarse grunting noises and foaming saliva at times.   He was never a cryer so that's why it took so long to figure out something was wrong.

2) How old was LO at time of diagnosis?  7 weeks

3)What is the treatment, and did it help?    just started 1.5 ml Zantac 3x a days

4) If it helped,  how long did it take for the medicine/treatment to work?  only been on it 2 days and he actually seems a little fussier, so not sure if its from trying to get used to the medicine.   We go back in one week and if its not working will ask for something else - I've heard Prevacid works wonders from some infants
