My parents resuced a dog who had been dropped off at the shelter because they just had a baby. They said he was too hyper and they couldn't handle him anymore with a little one. They hadn't bothered to teach him any commands. Literally, he didn't even know "sit".
After a couple months of training and a making sure he had a long walk each day, this dog is a perfect fit for my parents. He's sweet, even tempered, and a learns quickly. He's friendly with other dogs and children. All he needed was a little attention, some training, and exercise. My parents lucked out finding him, but it makes me wonder what was going through the minds of his previous owners.
