XP: Ergobaby + insert

I have an Ergobaby + the newborn insert but I'm not sure how exactly to wear it without her head falling forward. It looks like she ends up chin to chest every time I try and I know it's important to avoid that position because it can cut off oxygen. I watched the videos on Youtube but they don't really help because there aren't good close ups of what the baby's head is supposed to be doing while in the insert.

Is she supposed to lean back right now and rest her head on the neck padding or lean on my body? There's a pretty big gap between her and my body when I try putting her into the Ergo.

Maybe try tightening the waist and loosening the shoulder straps? LO is kind of leaning back when he's in the infant insert. His head is supported by the insert. I love it, he looks like a little taco.

Its a much different fit than my Moby, where he's pressed up against me.

ETA: We didn't try to use the Ergo until H was a month old.

When LO is in the insert (as he is right now, napping on me, his head is either straight on toward my chest (not with his chin to his chest, but facing straight on at me), or it's turned to the side so his cheek rests against my chest. I would try tightening the ergo straps at the waist and shoulder so his body can't lean back as much, which creates a space between you and him where his chin could fall down. You can also bring it to a baby store and ask them to show you.

My baby has his cheek on my chest in the insert. I roll the top of the insert back to support his head, and the side (by your armpit) straps should be pretty tight. This will bring him nice and close.
