Rock n' Play Sleeper Question

DH just set up our new Rock n' Play Sleeper tonight. The baby will sleep in this for at least three months. We have a question about the belt fastener. If you used the Rock n' Play and swaddled a LO in the past, what did you do about the belt? We want to swaddle, but it doesn't seem comfortable or feasible with the plastic belt. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

We didn't use the buckle at first. The baby can't sit up or roll over.

Thanks for your note, Dr. Payne. So it sounds like you just spread the belt out so it was on either side of the newborn's swaddle? It didn't cause any discomfort?

The Summer Infant swaddles have a hole in the back that you can put the belt through.

Trying to remember.... I think we sort of rolled it or folded it up.

We used miracle blankets and when he got a little bigger we just left his legs unswaddled so we could buckle him
in.

We just didn't use it at first.  It didn't bother baby and since he wasn't sitting up or anything it was perfectly safe.

I feel so silly I never realized what the holes were for on the swaddles...but I always wondered Tongue Tied We never used straps on our RNP sleeper since she was so little and couldn't really do anything to get out. I believe my husband just didn't put them in at all when putting together.

I just kinda push them to the side. Baby doesn't seem to mind.
