Did you feel "off" after having your baby?

We just had the baby yesterday but yesterday and today I feel off center/weird when I walk around and even sometimes when I lay down I feel like my head is still moving or something :

I asked the doctor and he said it's from the combination of the trauma of labor, the body fluids/blood shifting, some head congestion, etc.
Not to mention my big belly is deflated :

Just wondering if anyone else is feeling/felt this and how long it took to go away...

Thanks :

I think what you are describing is normal. If you felt dizzy or had a splitting headache or were seeing spots, then I think you'd have a problem. But yea, it's all kind of woozy the first few days. It's surreal, the baby is here, your belly isn't huge and hard (medium and squishy!), you're swollen and sore, etc. Everything is kind of out of wack. I recovered more quickly the first time but it wasn't too long w/ either but I attribute that to the high endorphins and no pain meds. Drink lots of water, don't push it, sit a lot.

I say normal.  I think it took me a good week after DS was born for me to realize I'd actually given birth and was taking care of a baby.  Up until that point I sort of felt like I was watching someone else do it on television.  I didn't feel sick or even disconnected, just....weird.

Physically, I started to feel less weird around day 3.  Still in pain, but at least the pain made sense.  Emotionally, I wonder if I will ever be normal again.  Maybe it's just the lack of sleep and the fact that I became someone's mom less than 6 weeks ago, but I've changed so much and I'm still not quite sure what to think of it.  But yes, everything you said sounds normal to me.

 This. Exactly!

I kept re-telling my labor/delivery story to family and friends and I think by the 20th time it finally sunk it that I really done all that, that my pregnancy was all over, and that my little boy was really here to stay.

It sounds like vertigo, an inner ear thing.

I felt about 100 yrs. old in the first days PP. Very exhausted, kinda spacey/dazed, could barely walk, kept forgetting I was a mother now. I doubt I will ever be my old self again, but that is fine w/ me because I have a whole new life now.

Totally normal, as the drugs and fluids left my system I felt more and more like myself...
