Doctors usually tell you if you have more than 4 an hour to call them. I'm 32 weeks and had contractions last friday night that were 6 mins apart, consistent for a few hours. Not painful, just uncomfortable and was told to go into L&D just for an evaluation. Come to find out it was preterm labor and I started to efface and dilate so I was given meds to stop the contractions. I'm now on bedrest for the week until I see my OB on Thursday for tests. While 9 times out of 10, its probably nothing, its better to be safe than sorry. Call your OB and ask what they advise.
