This. I was wondering why OP doesn't already have a scheduled "re-test" date as I understand once you have been put on thyroid medication you need to re-check your values periodically to make sure you are not being under or over dosed.
Yep, especially if you were put on it by an RE because you are TTC and your levels were high and you don't know if that dosage was right. The very first time I started taking any Thyroid meds I was tested every month for about 6 months while they tweaked the exact dosage I needed, it isn't like oh here is x dosage and that is standard and is all you need. I currently jump between dosages and sometimes have to take different dosages on the weekends than the weekdays.
I also am tested every 1-2 months but that's because my levels keep bouncing all over the place even with medication and they cannot bump up the meds any farther. Now that they've discovered it's autoimmune related (and not just 'regular' thyroid issues) and I have high antibodies from it, I'm going to ask my new PCP for a referral to an Endocrinologist.
My RE had been dealing with my issues (untreated PCOS and thyroid issues) but we're taking a break from treatment and I assume an Endocrinologist is better apt to treat multiple endocrine issues than a PCP?
Sweet - do you see and Endo or just the RE? My Rheumy is the one who discovered it is autoimmune related, but she doesn't want to 'handle' it because she only does joint/bone issues and nothing else, even if directly caused/related to my MCTD.
