Melanieian:With my DS I really didn't have any fears it was pretty smooth sailing but with my DD I freaked myself out my entire pregnancy. When I was about 12 weeks I watched a program on cleft lip and for the rest of my pregnancy I was so paranoid that my baby would be born with cleft lip, like I was obsessive about it. When she was born the first thing I looked at was her lips, seriously. Pregnancy hormones can really make you go crazy. Thankfully so far no crazy thoughts or fears with this baby. Anyone else have or have had any crazy off the wall fears?
Friends of ours had a baby this summer with a cleft lip. We just saw her over the holidays and she is a beautiful happy baby! She'll need another surgery when she's about 6 to close the roof of her mouth, but my confidence in modern medicine increased seeing her so happy and healthy.
