Amazon Mom

Sorry if this has been posted a million times.  I've looked at other posts regarding the Amazon Mom subscription and I'm reading a lot about Moms who think Diapers.com is better in the long run.  I see that Amazon Mom is $79/year with a 20% discount on diapers/wipes.  And my question is, if I don't have Amazon Prime, am I not getting the deepest discount?  Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.  Thanks!  I wish I would have known about this program when DD was in diapers!  Guess it's better late than never!

I think it has changed a little since I originally signed up...I believe the discount is best as a Prime/Mom member doing the subscribe and save feature, which means your diapers ship out every month (or every other or however you set it up), and you receive them toward the end of the month.  You get the full 20% off this way, it's broken down as like 15% as a Prime/Mom member and 5% for the Subscribe and Save option.  The shipping on S&S takes longer so if you need a last minute refill you get the free 2-day shipping but not the extra 5% off.

I love it and use it for my diapers, wipes, Diaper Genie refills, diaper cream, etc. etc. etc.  You can always cancel orders before they're shipped so say you got Desitin delivered monthly for three months and now have extra, you can just skip the next month.

Plus a free Kindle rental book each month from their library and lots of free TV shows and movies as part of their free unlimited video streaming, and free 2-day shipping on EVERYTHING.

So worth it.  You will start using it for EVERYTHING.  Diapers.com might be a little cheaper for just baby stuff but when you start using it for other stuff too you save money and it's so damn convenient to get the free 2-day shipping.  I used it for stuff like planning DS's birthday party (buying decorations and goodie-box stuff etc) as well as Christmas and birthday shopping.  Free returns too.

FTM here,

@Irish, would you say the Mom/Prime fee is worth it? I guess what I mean, do you make your money back? I'm super cheap and $80 seems like a lot but then again I don't know how much I'll be ordering haha

Thanks for all that info! I was going to start looking into this as well. I actually have Prime as a guest of someone else, so I get free 2-day shipping on everything but not the Kindle or streaming benefits. I'll have to figure out if I would use those enough to make up for it.

Amazon prime/Mom is totally worth it. I feel like we buy everything from Amazon. The best part is I can by Amazon GC at the grocery and then we get gas perks too. Since it is good on anything provided by Amazon and all prime items get free 2-day sipping (and free returns not questions asked) we love it. We have had it for less than a year and have totally made up the $80 membership fee. We haven't really gotten into the streaming books and movies as we have other sources for those, but might start that soon too.

I looked at Diapers.com and Soap.com (or net) and I didn't see a big enough difference in price to use them over Amazon.

But you gotta do what is best for you and your family and what you like best.

Prime is great for the free shopping etc... Now that I have Prime I but everything on Amazon! Too busy to walk 5 blocks to Macy's after work to get some socks... Oh wait I can buy them on Amazon! I bought a TV from amazon and got free 2 day shipping. How awesome is that?

You can get prenatal vitamins on Amazon, you can subscribe and save with stuff like soap and shaving cream and your favorite tea! I live in Seattle so I can even have them deliver me groceries w Amazon Fresh.

I really like Amazon find Prime totally with it, esp with the streaming that we do through our ps3. We don't have traditional cable at all.

But, for PP who is using someone else's Prime... Be aware that if Amazon realizes you're not in the same household your friend could get on trouble. I'm not sure how often that actually happens. But if they've bought digital stuff they're gonna be unhappy if their account gets shut down!

So do you only get the 2 Day free shipping if you're Prime?

I'm not sure how it works to have amazon mom without Prime, but if you have Prime you get free Amazon mom so then you definitely have the 2 day shipping

Yes, I'm pretty sure this is right.

It used to be sooo much better, but they changed it so that's it's slightly more expensive and if you don't have prime you don't get free 2 day shipping, but the diapers still ship out quickly and arrive sooner than they say.

I think the best thing to do is sign up for swagbucks - you can get amazon gift cards and use them towards diapers (or whatever you want). I do it and pay probalby only $5-10 for diapers each month,. PM me if you want more info.

Wow, I reaaaaally wish they would strike a deal to make a store brand formula.  Could do one-stop shopping.  Maybe we should all send emails :)
