STM's - bottle warmer question

I had the First Years Day/Night warmer with DD and while it did the trick, I hated it. I bottle fed (supplemented formula to breast milk) so I was always warming the breast milk from the fridge- Is there a bottle warmer out there that doesn't suck? I see a Cusinart and a Kiinde Kozii ($$) but I don't want to throw money away on something that is pointless. DD's old daycare used a crockpot to warm bottles and kept it on all day- I'm trying to avoid too much clutter on the counters though... TIA!

bottles don't have to be warmed.  so try not doing it and see if your baby is fine with that.

another thing I did was to leave a gallon of water out of the fridge and at room temp to make bottles with.  Then its not fridge cold.  I also would just take hot tap water from the sink and float the bottle in it for a few minute and that was enough to take the chill off.  Bottle warmers are not necessary.

We just turned our water heater up and would fill a bowl to warm. Sorry I'm not much help!

hate to say it, but out of all the bottle warms I've used, I've yet to find one that doesn't have its drawbacks. We used Dr. Brown's bottle warmer with our DD and it worked ok, but unless you cleaned it out at the end of the day, everyday, it would get smelly and have stuff growing it. I was looking for a new, better one for this time around for when I pumped and hubby would have to feed DS, but hubby is pretty against getting another warmer with all the bad experiences we have had with them. For him, its easier to just microwave some water in a dish and pop the bottle in the warm water. 10-15 mins and bottle was ready. Our DD wasn't picky about it having to be warm or cold either which was nice so sometimes, we just gave it to her right out of the fridge and she was happy.

As much as you may hate to get a little crock to sit on the counter, it might be your best bet if you plan to use bottles a lot. Otherwise, just heat up some water in a dish. Bottle warmers really are a money making scam unless you don't mind cleaning them constantly.

We also never warmed bottles. We ran BM storage bags under warm water to thaw and warm up. If we had to make a formula bottle we just used room temp tap water.

I'm trying to be optimistic thinking I will be able to BF (or at least be able to have enough supply to not have to supplement)- and since this didn't happen last time bottle feeding pumped milk only is a new territory (which will happen at the latest at 12 weeks when I will go back to work).

We never warmed bottles. I used to nanny and had to warm bottles and found it to be such a PITA. Tap water and powder with a little shake did the trick - quick, convenient, and mobile.

I used the Dr. Brown's bottle warmer and really liked it. I had a different one before that that I absolutely hated. I can't remember what the brand was. I EP'd so I had to warm up the milk. My hot water from my faucet is not that hot so I found it easier to use the bottle warmer.

Our previous daycare did the crock pot thing.    We used room temp nursery water for any formula bottles.  All BM was run under warm water to thaw if frozen.  If it was in the fridge we gave him a cold bottle or would sit it in a cup of warm water for a few.

I warmed breast milk under warm running water in the sink..  I agree with not warming bottles if you don't need to.  DD was able to drink BM right from the fridge and still nursed fine.

I only "warmed" BM bottles to the point where the fat at the top could be more easily swirled in, which was basically either running it under warm water, or just filling a glass/bowl with warm water and letting the bottle sit in there. If we needed to make a formula bottle we just used room temp filtered water. No need for a bottle warmer IMO.

We have a Tommee Tippee bottle warmer that we only used to thaw frozen bm bags and we love it. It was way faster than running under hot water and much less wasteful.  It only took about 5 minutes too.  Around 8 or 9 months, my frozen supply was almost non-existent so pumped milk in the fridge was all we had and by that time DS drank it cold so we only used the bottle warmer for 6-7 months.  Still worth it though IMO and we plan to use it again.

This entirely.

I had a bottle warmer but I never wanted to wait for the bottle to warm while DS was a newborn and was all, "I WANT IT NOW."
