Do you think Levi is too religious?

I really like the name Levi, but when I think of it I think of the bible.  This doesn't really bother me, although I guess it does a little or I wouldn't be asking this question.  I am not religious at all, so would be kind of different if I named my kid with a Biblical reference...

 Is that your first and only thought about the name too?

My first thought is jeans.

I know it's a name that appears in the bible, but not being a religious person I don't know who the character is.

I think of the Jeans,  I love the name and would use it if DH's cousin that has the same name as me hadn't used it.

Meh. I know it is a religious name, but all the Levi's I know were jerks haha. So I don't automatically think of a religious person.

ETA: I am a religious person, and I don't know where Levi's name is in the Bible exactly. I have somewhat of an idea, but I don't think he was that big of a "character".

No, I think it is mainstream enough that it is not necessarily too religious. I suppose if sibs were Hezekiah and Ebenezer, that might tip it, but on its own, no.

I think Levi is still a religious name, closer to, say, Ezekiel, than secularized Mark.

That's kind of interesting. All the Levis I know are not Jewish. Most of them are Catholic, one is non-denominational, but all of them are Christian.

I don't think so... The names that say religion to me are John, Mary, Joseph, Moses, Miriam, Noah, Adam, Eve... but that's me. I like Levi!

No. I think of a family member. It isn't an automatic bible reference for me.

If it helps my DH and I are also not religious but like several names from the bible.

I do think of the Bible but I'm quite religious. I also think of my Christian friend that is named Levi. However like others have said, it's pretty mainstream now.

I think of the Bible, but I've been reading a lot of old testament recently, so I'm up on most of the 12 tribes of Jacob. ;)  I am purposely choosing biblical names, so I like Levi a lot!  I wouldn't use it because it's also one of SIL's favorites.  I will not be a name stealer! ;)
