Stomach pains every time I eat...

Hi ladies,

I'm wondering if any of you have any insight into my discomfort! For the past three days I have been having sharp stomach pains immediately after I eat. I don't eat anything heavy or consume overly large portions (this happens when I eat something as small as a pear). I always drink lots of water, which doesn't hurt my stomach, just the food.

On a side note, I have been pretty constipated despite a fiber rich diet. I didn't have this when I was pregnant with DD, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

My DH has the same pains when he is backed up. He says he hardly wants to eat because it hurts his stomach.

Depending on how long you have been backed up, call your DR & see if it's okay to take a laxative.
When I get backed up I make sure to include a couple apples in my diet over the next few days and I'm back to normal.

HTH

This.  I would take a suppository to clear everything out.  You will feel so much better.

I agree with the ladies above (constipation will cause all sorts of issues). Instead of a laxative, I started pro-biotics, which is incredibly healthy for you & baby! Within a few days, I was back to normal! Talk to your doctor and see what he/she says, if you are uncomfortable with a laxative, as I was. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks ladies, I just called my midwife and she told me to go get some Miralax to help with the constipation, she said that should fix my little red wagon! :)

I had something quite similar, it was like this awful bloating, sharp pain at the top of my abdomen, right below my breasts.  It felt like it was behind my ribs, this just uncomfortable feeling.  I was so backed up from being constipated, nothing helped.  I finally started taking fiber gummies and colace.  The colace works wonders and is safe for you to take while pregnant.  After taking the colace twice in a 3 week period, I am somewhat more regular, and it's easier to go - much softer (sorry if tmi).  Try a softener, as laxatives can be too harsh during pregnancy.  Good luck, hope it gets better!!!
