Hiccups/Gas

My DD sometimes gets hiccups and has a hard time settling down/going to sleep after feeding (she is FF). Sometimes she does have a good burp and seems ok, but other times she won't burp at all after a feeding. I am wondering if these are signs that she is gassy?

Have you tried giving her gas drops? I find the little tummies gas drops work wonders on my LO.

For burping, try different positions if you're having a difficult time getting a burp out. Over the shoulder, sitting on your thigh- support her chest with one hand and place them and fingers around her jaw/chin to support her head. In this position you can also slowly rotate her in circles your tip her backwards and forwards slowly (if it scares her, don't do it). Another way is to lay her tummy down across your thighs. I find these techniques are really helpful for getting out stubborn burps.

My daughter has hiccups all the time. I try burping and having her sit up, but she just seems to have them all the time. I use gripe water when they just won't go away and it gets rid of them immediately. Try that!

ditto gripe water. DS is 21 months old and it still gets rid of them immediately.

My DD usually lets out a huge trucker burp followed with hiccups. She gets hiccups about 4 times a day almost as much as when she was in my belly. When they don't go away or it's keeping her awake I give her gripe water. Most times it helps instantly. My pedi told me to try burping for a few minutes, because I would be at it for 20 minutes to no avail and that farts count. Lol
