Hate one name, love a very similar one

For example, I really don't like the name Anne, but I think Anna is beautiful. My niece's name is Caitlin, and she goes by Caity. I love that name, and I also love Kate, but I don't care for the name Katie at all.

Anybody else have similar name preferences?

I used to really like Maya and then when I was pregnant, I didn't like it at all, and named my baby Mia. 
O is allergic to eggs (especially yolks), dairy, peanuts and tree nuts (+ cat allergy & asthma). DS (O) 10.08 DD (MJ) 6.10

I too hate Anne/Annie but think Anna is pretty.

I love Helena, but hate Helen. 

TTC 10/11. HSG 2/12 normal. DH's SA low normal count. IUI 2/12. BFP 3/8/12. 4/26/12 missed mc. RE consult 5/17/12. IVF #1 ER 7/13/12 53R, 41M ICSIed, 32F, 8 5d, 6 6d blasts - all PGD/frozen. PGD results 1 normal M and 1 normal F, 1 maybe M. FET 9/6, transferred 1 F embie. Beta 9/15 BFN. FET#2 planned for 11/2012 put off until 2013. Surprise BFP 11/21/12!!

DH was the same way - hated Caitlynn, loved Caity. We vetoed the name since we couldn't agree on it.

I like my DD's name Iris but dislike Isla even though I like Ilsa and Elsa. I like Cora and Nora but think Laura is dated and boring and don't care for Maura. Love Alice but not Allison.
