Best pad for after birth?

Since I'm having my LO at a birth center, I'm not going to get all the freebies you normally get at a hospital. What type of pad is best for postpartum bleeding? After standing in the feminine aisle for a while yesterday, I'm really confused. lol

Tena. The urinary incontinence pads are amazing. And they are made as pads, not adult diapers.

When I delivered at a birthing center, they gave me Poise pads inside of a Depends. While I was really wary at first, those Depends were great for the few days.

I've read in a few places to buy a pack of depends for the first week. It sounded strange, yet I can see where it might offer more coverage and be more comfortable

I used the ones the hospital gave me while in the hospital and then I think I used Always Infinity for a couple days. From what I remember, the heavy bleeding only lasted a few days. By a week later it was light and I only needed a light pad, even at night.

I'd want some perineal cold pack pads! they are huge pads that you snap in the middle and they turn nice and cold! I used those for the first week with tuck pads on top due to my tearing. then after that I just use regular always pads

Take some of your pads and soak them in water and freeze them, you'll be needing some Ice down there.

this minus the hospital pads since I was also in a birth center... and for me the heavy bleeding lasted about a week but I wen  through a crapload of them because I couldn't stand the dirty feeling

I was told that the "Incognito MaxiMom with comfort tabs" were a good option, especially since my hospital doesn't give out pads. These are the longest, thickest and have an overnight absorption level... My SIL still ended up changing them every hour. Nice.

I'm glad to read about freezing wet pads, although that cannot be comfortable... A wet pad looses its shape, doesn't it? I might try!

With my first, I used the depends lined with the Kotex long overnight pads with wings.  Those things were thick as a phone book and I still needed to change them every hour or so.  That lasted a little over a week then I went to Always Overnights with wings.  Worked like a charm.  The tucks pads (chilled) were also a lifesaver after the heavy flow stopped.

I second the Always Infinity (with wings!) extra long.  I used the overnight ones too.  The hospital pads felt uber bukly and uncomfortable after a few days.

I used the enormous hospital pads for the first few days, then used Always infinity. They were the most comfortable ones I found that still absorbed enough.
